I am able to recognize in the picture the likeness of an old acquaintance  - one Daniel Temple of Chatham, who left his wife (Adalaide “Addie” Hall) some eight years ago and went into the western country and in 1876 married a lady (Lurah) at Waupun, Wisconsin where he was a traveling agent for a company selling and setting up windmills.  (Althouse, Wheeler & Company)<p>"After living with this lady a little over three years he again decamped leaving her almost destitute and with two children (Gertrude and Lottie Temple) and taking with him $60.00 of the company’s money.  <p>"He has not been heard from since that time. <p>"He also left two children with his first wife. (Addie, Albert and Clifford)  He is the youngest son of the late Russell Temple of Chatham and is the one black sheep of the flock.
