She appeared in the census in June 1860 in Greene Co., TN.<sup><a href="sources.htm#65485" class="lnk">65485</a></sup> Mary appeared in the census in July 1870 in Greene Co., TN.<sup><a href="sources.htm#65488" class="lnk">65488</a></sup> She appeared in the census in June 1880 in Greene Co., TN.<sup><a href="sources.htm#65484" class="lnk">65484</a></sup> In June 1900 she was a farmer in Somervell Co., TX.<sup><a href="sources.htm#14319" class="lnk">14319</a></sup> Mary died on 11 May 1908 at the age of 76 in Glen Rose, Somervell, TX.<sup><a href="sources.htm#9950" class="lnk">9950</a>,<a href="sources.htm#65487" class="lnk">65487</a>,<a href="sources.htm#65489" class="lnk">65489</a></sup> Buried in Georges Creek Cemetery, near Glen Rose, TX. Her parents were from NC (father) and SC (mother). By 1900, she claimed to have had 6 children, all of whom survived. However, if 6 survived, with Bayard dying in 1891 and Lillie in 1896, then she must have had 8 children, as shown.<p>Her surname is from a source that is a bit suspect. The Plumly genealogy said her husband was George Temple, and that it was he for whom Temple, Texas was named. This is wrong on many accounts, in that Bernard Moore Temple was the railroad engineer for whom Temple, TX was named. According to Temple Bible data, provided to me by Angela Faye Guilford Temple, <[email protected]>. According to that Bible, probably annotated by Theodore F. Temple, Mary was a Plumblee. Also, although she often appears in the census as Mary J., her name in the Bible was given as Mary Elvira.
