Either possibility raises issues with the birth dates of the children.  Naomi (Amy) was probably from a first marriage for Henry, but the rest of the children are not. Furthermore, Henry did not die until 1827, and this raises questions about the circumstances of the marriage to John Hobby.  There is another possibility, in that the 1800 census shows 4 females in the household of Elizabeth Temple,  The first is over 45 (Elizabeth), one 26-45, which would be Lucy, and one 10-16 and one under 10.  The one under 10 is not likely to have married Henry Massengill in 1801, but the one who was as old as 16 could have.  Furthermore, it is possible that the female under 10 (would have been about 7 actually) could have married John Hobby in 1814.
