His age was listed as 21, giving him a birth year of 1851.<p>Another, less likely alternative, was Salomon Cohn, age 30, a merchant who arrived via the ship Main from Bremen on 19 Feb 1872.<p>Leaving no stone unturned, another Salomon Cohn, age 22, a clerk, arrived aboard the ship Westphalia from Hamburg and Havre on 17 Jul 1872.<p>A ____oma Cohans, age 20, and a farmer, arrived from Prussia aboard the ship Egypt, via Liverpool and Queenstown, on 5 Aug 1872. At age 20, depending on what his name was, this is the close to the oral tradition of the birth year for Solomon Kahn.<p>If the oral tradition and census year (1872) is off by one, then another candidate is Sal. Kahn, age 17, a clerk from Germany who arrived on the ship Germania from Hamburg on 18 May 1871.<p>On the other side of the most probable year, we find Salomon Cohn, a tailor aged 20 from Germany, who arrived on the ship Mosel from Bremen on 9 May 1874. At this age, he fits precisely the age of Solomon Kahn.
