<B>New Orleans, LA (June 9, 2002)-</B>The summer's best Festival keeps getting better as Babyface, Brian McKnight, Tom Joyner & the Morning Show Crew, A.J. Jamal, and others have all recently been confirmed to appear at the Coca-Cola Presents the 2002 Essence Music Festival, July 4, 5, and 6 in New Orleans.

Luther Vandross, Alicia Keys, Mary J. Blige, Maze featuring Frankie Beverly and many others were previously announced for the Festival's evening concerts to be held at the Louisiana Superdome.  The complete Main-stage lineup for the event is:

Festival organizers also announced that Bishop T.D. Jakes and Donnie McClurkin will appear on July 5 at the popular free Empowerment Seminar Series, which features African-American intellectuals, political activists, and religious and social leaders discussing issues of spirituality, love, popular culture and more at the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center.  Complete details regarding the Seminar Series schedule, the Essence Marketplace and other Convention Center events will be released in the coming weeks.

The Coca-Cola Company is the Festival's title sponsor for the fifth consecutive year.  The event is also sponsored in part by Anheuser-Busch Companies, makers of Budweiser; Nokia/Cingular Wireless; Chevrolet; Luster's Pink; Burger King; the City of New Orleans; and Southwest Airlines, the official airline of The Essence Music Festival.  The U.S. Army Reserve Officers Training Corps (ROTC) will also be on hand to provide information on college scholarships.
