I had the occasion to recently attend the funeral for a truly godly gentleman at St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester. This gentleman and his wife (his wife passed into eternal life a few years ago) pre-planned and pre-paid their funeral arrangements with me many years ago while I was employed at and an owner of Nordgren Memorial Chapel in Worcester.

Arriving at the Cathedral a few minutes prior to the arrival of the deceased and the family, I sat in the rear of the Cathedral and read several passages in the Bible. Once the casket was carried into the Cathedral, Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos walked down the aisle, looked my way, smiled respectfully, blessed the casket of the deceased and proceeded to escort the deceased and his family to the front of the Cathedral.

I paused a moment and reflected upon the occasion wherein Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos appeared at and testified under oath during the Administrative Hearing concerning blasphemous false, fabricated, and fraudulent accusations and allegations made by my former employers (business partners) as well as by the then Chairman of the Massachusetts Funeral Board (Kazlauskas) and the Investigator for the Massachusetts Division of Professional Licensure (Bresnahan). During his testimony at the aforementioned Administrative Hearing, Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos attempted to answer questions posed to him and state for the record his knowledge of circumstances and issues under review.

Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos was appalled at how he was treated and the total disrespect he encountered during the Administrative Hearing not by the Division of Professional Licensure Prosecuting Attorney, but by the Administrative Hearing's Counsel Ms. Anne Colleton. Not only was Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos not allowed to speak and to address the circumstances and issues as he knew them to be, but he was unable to determine who the prosecuting attorney was and who the supposed impartial judge in the proceedings was.

The very next day, Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos contacted me asking who the woman was who would not allow him to speak. His initial belief was the woman to be the prosecuting attorney, and was shocked to learn she (Ms. Colleton) was the so-called Judge in the proceedings. At this point, Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos said to me, "Phil, from what I witnessed and knowing you as I do, put your faith and thrust in God and leave the matter to the consciences of those who will do evil to you!"

So emotionally involved and deeply hurt by the deliberate false, fabricated, and fraudulent attacks on me and my character by competitor funeral directors as well as those in a governmental system, I did not and could not fully comprehend and understand the breadth and depth of the words expressed by Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos. My belief was the Massachusetts Funeral Board and the Division of professional Licensure had the responsibility to protect an individual (in this case a well-respected Massachusetts Funeral Director) from wrongful, false and fraudulent attacks; while at the same time protecting the public's health, safety, and welfare concerns.

It wasn't until I confronted lead prosecuting attorney for the Division of Professional Licensure, James Read, with veritable facts that demonstrated what he was stating during the Administrative Proceedings was inaccurate and counter to the record (and truth), I shall never forget Atty. Read's words to me in the presence of a witness, "Mr. Haddad, I could care less about the facts and the truth! It is my job to see that you do not ever again practice as a funeral director in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts!"

At that point, it became abundantly clear to me (and others) that the Administrative Hearing's Process I was under-going was not only a complete and total sham, but just another "notch on the belt" of the prosecution for the Division of Professional Licensure to justify their existence and assure them of a job now and in the future. How truly sad!

Recently I contacted a Catholic Priest in Colorado, whom I met several years ago. He has followed my case (circumstances) now for some time, and from time to time would contact me requesting an update, praying with me and for me, and sharing incites with me. During our conversation, he asked if I knew the significance of "yeast" as it pertained to acts and actions of those who are readily and easily tempted to be swallowed up by the evil within them. I responded I was aware of the term "yeast" and its purposes in cooking; but what was his point in bringing yeast into the conversation? He asked if I had my Bible handy; to which I answered, "Yes!" He asked that I turn to the Gospel of Luke, Chapter 12, wherein Jesus refers to the term "yeast" when He (Jesus) references Hypocrisy!

"Phil, 'yeast' is a Biblical symbol of 'corruption', since its nature is to expand, spreading throughout the batch wherein it resides. When 'yeast' is referenced in the Bible, it is indicative of corruption and corrupting the entire batch of bread or more definitively those involved in a corruptive process. We all know a rotten apple spoils the whole barrel. In the same way, a little hypocrisy (which you clearly have experienced from the outset dating back to 2003) can spread through a person (s) contaminating and infecting his/her judgment and that of all who hear, yet are blind."

In concluding our conversation, the Priest asked that I read aloud Luke, Chapter 12, vs. 2-3. "There is nothing concealed that will not be disclosed, or hidden that will not be made known. What you have said in the dark will be heard in the daylight, and what you have whispered in the ear in the inner room will be proclaimed from the roofs!"

I am repeatedly told by many close to me "You can't change the world or the people in the world, so don't waste your time. Corruption and evil will prevail regardless of what you do or say. Just look at the bottomless pit of corruption in Massachusetts. It has always been there; but with computers and social media of today, we just see it more often and almost immediately as it occurs."

Those who know me (truly know me) are aware that I have devoted my life to be of assistance to others sparing no expense in time and resources to be there for those in need. Men and women with evil motives have compromised my life's work in order to feather their own beds at my expense. My name and reputation have unquestionably suffered. My ability to be responsive to the needs of many has been seriously curtailed. My ability to earn a living and to economically prosper has unjustly and deliberately been denied me. Yet, I have not for a moment backed down from the "Truth" before God!" And I will not!

I remain, and always will be, encouraged and reassured by my Faith. My Faith will not now or ever, waiver. Almost 10 years have passed, and I stand firm before the Good Lord in Truth!

I have much to share with you and will do so in the very near future. In the meantime, I wish to leave you with a passage from the Bible, the Gospel of John, Chapter 3, vs. 19-21 a passage of Hope and a passage I pray each of you join me in remembering each and every day of our lives. Christ in His Own Words: "This is the verdict: Light has come into the world, but men (and women) added emphasis loved darkness instead of light because their deeds were evil. Everyone who does evil hates the light, and will not come into the light for fear that his/her deeds will be exposed. But whoever lives by the truth comes into the light, so that it may be seen plainly that what he has done has been done through God!"

We are all consumed by the demands and challenges we find in this world, and as such, we oftentimes put our spiritual journey on the back burner. If you knew the Good Lord was sending His Son back to earth tomorrow, would you be on your hands and knees begging for forgiveness and repenting for the evil you have bestowed on others? I suspect you would!

I began this update with the phrase "Crisis of Conscience! A Volcano about to Erupt!"

I believe we all have a conscience! Some will harness their conscience and beg forgiveness and repent today. Many, I'm sure, will wait until the 11th hour to beg forgiveness and repent; at which time I suspect they will hear the words of the Lord, "I NEVER KNEW YOU!"

Thanks for your encouragement and support.

Blessings always
