<p>The quote above came from a 43 year old woman from a town just outside of Chicago; a woman who apparently has followed this web site for more than three (3) years. Shocked to see the depth of deception of some and the extent of the corruption by many, she indicated she just had to forward the above quote to me. As you can see, this woman commanded that I concentrate on the sentence in red.</p>
<p>During the past 4-1/2 years, I have experienced the devil at his finest hour grappling up the weak to join his crusade. I have witnessed so-called professionals eager to join the parade for their own personal financial gain at the expense of eternity with God, yet caring not that they were enlisting in the army of evil.</p>
<p>It was not till one year after the fact and many thousands of dollars later that I not only learned that the Chairman of the State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, Commonwealth of Massachusetts (John J. Kazlauskas) had viciously attacked my character and integrity before the full State Board in my absence while Board attorneys (Anliot and Carroll) sat idly by listening to Kazlauskas addressing me as a "carpetbagger" and a "snake"; but secured an audio tape of the proceedings of the December 9, 2003 Meeting of the State Board wherein the "path to injustice" unfolded. </p>
<p>Is it possible Chairman Kazlauskas was biased and prejudiced? Is it possible that Chairman Kazlauskas infected the process? Where were Kathy Cartmell-Siricco, Edward Mazur, Ralph Barile, and Patricia McCarthy while all this was happening? Where were Helen Peveri and Kim Scully? And where was the Division of Professional Licensure's crack investigator, John Bresnahan, during these proceedings? Possibly "piling on"? We shall see.</p>
<p>Now comes Pasqua Scibelli, a prosecuting attorney for the Division of Professional Licensure, whom I have yet to meet (but honestly, I am patiently waiting for this opportunity). On the case just long enough to put together a fabricated Order to Show Cause, with the able assistance of a legal intern named Rich Matthews, Ms. Scibelli wisely bolted from the process just before the heat in the kitchen became too much to bare. </p>
<p>Leslie Alexander, a young attorney of less than a year and somehow finding her way to becoming a full fledged prosecution attorney, soon found her way into the fray. Withholding information, making statements contrary to the facts, and I could go on and on (and will at some point soon), it became evident Atty. Alexander (a nice lady, by the way) was just over her head in these proceedings. For you see, it has been the experience of the Massachusetts State Board of Funeral Directors and Embalmers that they believed  they could do most anything they liked and can and will bring you to your knees if you question their actions, their will, or their perceived power to take away that which the constitution guarantees and that which you have worked your lifetime to achieve. </p>
<p>It soon became apparent Ms. Alexander was way over her head and on comes crack prosecution attorney, James Read. Atty. Read could not care less about or be bothered by the facts; and soon after entering the process stated to me in the presence of a witness, "Mr. Haddad, the facts don't matter. It is my job to see that you do not practice as a funeral director in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts ever again". Quite frankly, this statement by Atty. Read (well documented by the way) was the first time that I truly questioned my full faith and confidence in the system of justice about to unfold.</p>
<p>John Bresnahan, investigator for the Funeral Board, claims to have conducted an investigation; yet there are no investigative records to be found in the Public Records reviewed in an "in situ" inspection which was conducted on April 24, 2007. The three (3) complaint file jackets for each of Mrs. Mangsen's complaints filed with the Board (Mrs. Mangsen being the wife of Kurt Mangsen, president of Nordgren Memorial Chapel in Worcester) were <em><strong>empty</strong></em> during the inspection and remain empty to this day. </p>
<p>What was found during the "in situ" inspection on April 24, 2007; and what took just over a year to obtain from the Division of Professional Licensure (I can't wait to share with you the process that eventually lead to the release of the 164 pages requested) speak volumes to the accuracy of every word and every statement presented in this web site during the past 3 + years. Suffice it to say, <em>"There are consequences for ones statements and actions"</em>.</p>
<p>Quite frankly, there was no investigation by Investigator Bresnahan; for he had taken his lead and formulated his conclusions from Chairman Kazlauskas; Nordgren's treasurer, Katherine Mangsen; and Nordgren's legal counsel, Scott Sinrich on December 9, 2003 before any complaints from Mrs. Mangsen were filed with the Board. What I suspected from the outset, is now proven with documents in my possession. Investigator Bresnahan unilaterally accepted statements by Chairman Kazlauskas, statements by Katherine Mangsen, and statements by Nordgren's legal counsel, Sinrich as true without any attempt to verify their accuracy - all the while having in his possession responses to the complaints filed by me (Haddad). </p>
<p>Investigator Bresnahan met Katherine Mangsen for the 1st time on November 19, 2003. On December 9, 2003 (just 20 days later) during the meeting of the Funeral Board and in Mrs. Mangsen's presence, he asked her repeatedly, "Katherine, tell us about this. Katherine, tell us about that." Immediately, a flurry of correspondence flows from Katherine Mangsen to Investigator Bresnahan commencing with Mrs. Mangsen's words - "Dear John". (much more on this cozy relationship in a subsequent update).</p>
<p>It made little difference to the assigned Administrative Hearings Counsel, Anne Colleton, (who kept instructing me that she was acting in the role of a judge in this matter), that statement after statement made by Kurt Mangsen, by Ronald Johnson, and by Atty. Scott Sinrich were contradicted by testimony of witnesses provided by the defense - each witness being subpoenaed and therefore categorized as "hostile" witnesses. Contrary to accepted legal practices, all witnesses for the defense were called to testify (and were required to travel to Boston for the Administrative Hearings) without consultation or any preparation by the defense (Haddad). Having no idea what the witnesses would say under examination (and cross-examination), I could only believe each witness would tell the truth, for I knew the Good Lord (as I'm sure they did as well) was watching.</p>
<p>Representing myself at this juncture allowed me to ask difficult but pertinent questions and seek out the truth from the witnesses. Kurt Mangsen, president, Nordgren Memorial Chapel and Ronald Johnson, a funeral director at Nordgren Memorial Chapel made statements on December 9, 2003 to the Funeral Board and again during their testimony during the Administrative Hearing's process - statements that were firmly contradicted by Francis O'Connor (O'Connor Brothers Funeral Home in Worcester), and Anthony Athy (Athy Memorial Home, also in Worcester). When Mr. O'Connor and Mr. Athy were shown and read the statements by Kurt Mangsen and Ronald Johnson, both stated "under oath" the statements made by Mangsen and Johnson were false, were not true, and did not happen. I had to believe, not knowing what either gentleman would say, that both Mr. Athy and Mr. O'Connor would honor their name and tell the truth. This they did.</p>
<p>As for testimony by Kevin Mercadante (Mercadante Funeral Home & Chapel in Worcester), this process was more difficult; but the end result was the same. Mr. Mercadante was a bit less forthcoming, and it took a bit more probing to get to the "real" facts in the matter. Although Mr. Mercadante's recollection of what had transpired was difficult to come by at times, Mr. Mercadante did dispel statements of fact as made and recorded (or supposedly recorded) by Investigator Bresnahan. To this very day (more than 4 years later) Investigator Bresnahan's investigative records have not been produced. (more on this to include Investigator Bresnahan's testimony at the Administrative Hearing in a subsequent update).</p>
<p>Four Million Dollars ($4M) of Massachusetts Taxpayer Dollars have been wasted in a "shamful" and "shameful" process that must not go unnoticed. I have documented the chronology of the process in great detail and have shared it with the appropriate state officials from the Governor of the Commonwealth dating back to Governor Romney and Attorney General Reilly, to Inspector General Sullivan, to Secretary of State Galvin, to various Directors of the Ethics Commission, to the District Attorney's Office in Worcester County, and to the Massachusetts State Police. Governor Patrick and Lt. Governor Murray also have been apprised of the issues and have been made aware of the waste of precious state resources. The audit trail is clear as is the corruption that has permeated the "corruptive" process.</p>
<p>I am often asked "Why haven't you gone to the media, (much like Nordgren's legal counsel - Scott Sinrich did in an attempt to smear my name and reputation as he did and was done in the funeral industry trade publication, the Funeral Monitor, on not less than six (6) occasions - all while the Administrative Process was underway)? </p>
<p><u><strong>My response</strong></u> - "Even with all that has happened, and maybe it's my spirituality and belief in God, I still have <em><strong>full faith & confidence</strong></em> justice will be served - but unfortunately - <u>Justice at What Price?</u></p>
<p>The Bible is ripe with guidance as we face persecution from those who are disciples of evil. We believe there is a <em>"promised land"</em> for those who have been sealed with the Holy Spirit. Service and commitment to Jesus Christ as our witness and the Good Lord as our Master has its roots in what I believe to be "Honesty of Service" to the Good Lord. You've heard the expression many times, "You can't fool Mother Nature!" What this statement really means, "You cannot fool GOD! - no matter how much you rationalize or how hard you try". Today (not tomorrow, not next week, or not while on your death-bed, but <em><strong>today</strong></em>) is the day to seek "light" from the "darkness" wherein you reside.</p>

<p>For those of you false believers (I refer to you as "cafeteria Christians" - you pick and choose your rationale in seeking unity with God), the aforementioned statement does not apply to you; for God gave you "your own free will" to choose and many of you have chosen Satan as your master.</p>
