“Eyes Opened Wider” – Accountability on

From the moment I was able to finally get possession of the audio tape
of the conspiracy sanctioned and blessed by all members of the State Board
of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers, and its legal counsels,
James Anliot and Christopher Carroll in December 2003 (the members being
the late John J. Kazlauskas, Chairperson; Kathy Cartmell-Sirrico, Secretary;
Edward J. Mazur; Ralph Barile; and Judith McCarthy, public member) –
the audio tape recorded and provided to my attorney by Byron Blanchard (Mr.
Blanchard present at the meeting on December 9, 2003), I knew why specific
actions were taken by the State Board. I also knew that for the State Board
to reverse course would be an admission of guilt and a total embarrassment
for each of its members, its investigator, and its attorneys.

Prior to John Kazlauskas leaving this life; apparently, according to Leslie
Alexander, prosecuting attorney ($59,198.90), Mr. Kazlauskas wished to recuse
himself from involvement in the case (now some 16 months after his statements
and actions of December 9, 2003). Soon thereafter, Kathy Cartmell-Sirrico
was not reappointed to the State Board. Ralph Barile took a sudden and unexplained
walk from the Board. And Edward Mazur and Judith McCarthy held on along
with John Bresnahan ($55,998.50) to perpetuate the attempted cover up of
the conspiracy, further corrupting not only the issues but the process –
soon to come under the most profound scrutiny in recent times.

(I suggest to Ms. Cartmell-Sirrico and Mr. Barile as well as Mr. Anlio,
that because you are no longer in the positions you held on December 9,
2003, you remain key players in the conspiracy and shall be called to account
for your participation in the process).

Justice, if it is possible in Massachusetts (and as a 32 year career federal
civil servant, I am a believer that justice can and will prevail based upon
the real facts and NOT wrongful, distorted, false, and unverifiable allegations
and accusations by a woman whose only purpose is and was to attempt to destroy
the name and reputation of a business associate that wouldn’t “march
to her drummer” (I speak of Katherine Mangsen, wife of Kurt Mangsen,
president, Nordgren Memorial Chapel in Worcester).

In order to document chronologically the actions of all involved for future
reference and for what appeared to be necessary court proceedings based
upon the audio tape of the December 9, 2003 State Board Meeting, I created
this web site – www.justiceatwhatprice.com.
In doing so, it has attracted the attention of numerous funeral directors
(now numbering in excess of 600 at last count); several pre-need insurance
companies (as a result of Columbian Life Insurance Companies unwillingness
to stand up to the truth in apparent questionable actions taken by its former
district manager and vice president of Pre-Need); two (2) law school professors;
two (2) former State Board Chairpersons from other states than Massachusetts;
families that have been served by me over the past 37 years; and now local
and national media.

Approximately 4,400 pages of documents; 3 years and 7 months having past;
the expenditure (and waste) of in excess of $2.5M of Massachusetts taxpayer
dollars in a charade soon to be fully exposed for all to see; and the State
Board of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers as well as all
those high priced Division of Professional Licensure state employees listed
below will soon be held accountable for their cover up and intentional concealment
of the truth in a vein attempt to obstruct justice. I am aware these are
profound statements; and as always, I am prepared to back up each and every
word with the truth and “real” facts. And that day
is soon to arrive.

I have been asked by several persons in the recent past what barometer
was used in calculating the cost to the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in
arriving at the figure (now conservatively estimated to be $2.5M) expended
in the “witch hunt” initiated by Mrs. Mangsen and championed
by Mr. Kazlauskas and Mr. Bresnahan ($55,998.50) with the support and cooperation
of Mr. Kevin Mercadante and Mr. Ronald Johnson. I present for your information
the following “high priced” state employees salaries as a starting
point.

• George W. Weber, Director, Division of Professional Licensure -
$ 103,452.00
• Kathe Mullally, Chief Counsel, Div. of Professional Licensure -
$ 83,607.70
• Christopher Carroll, Assistant Chief Investigator, DPL - $ 78,377.00
• Anne Colleton, Administrative Hearings Counsel, DPL - $ 77,689.80
• Robert M. Horacek, Counsel, DPL - $ 77,689.80
• Jerry C. Decristofaro, Chief Investigator, DPL - $ 74,429.90
• James Read, Prosecuting Counsel, DPL - $ 61,129.60
• Leslie Alaxander, Prosecuting Counsel, DPL - $ 59,198.90
• John Bresnahan, Inspector/Investigator, DPL - $ 55,998.50
• Maria Silva, Paralegal Specialist, DPL - $ 55,671.70
• Cheryl Yebba, Public Records Custodian/Administrator, DPL - $ 47,750.00
• Helen Peveri, Executive Director, State Board - $ 72,491.70
• Kim Scully, Assistant Executive Director, State Board - $ 55,350.00
• Jeannette Nguyen, Contract Student Intern, DPL - $ 13,559.50

State employees (Civil Servants, I remind you) in the Division of Professional
Licensure are paid handsomely as you can see. Their responsibility is NOT
to prejudge a situation, NOT to accept allegations and accusations as factual
without a complete and comprehensive investigation and verification of the
facts, and NOT to jump to conclusions and go on the record prematurely.

In America (and from my experience the Commonwealth of Massachusetts has
yet to secede from the union of 50 U.S. States), not only is one presumed
innocent until proven guilty, there are checks and balances in our democracy
so that individuals whose “honor” may be questionable are not
permitted to “run off half cocked” and compromise a system of
justice without accountability. Hence, the appointment of Mr. Jerry Decristofaro
as the Chief Investigator for the Division of Professional Licensure ($74,429.90)
to assure Mr. John Bresnahan ($55,998.50) conducted a thorough and complete
investigation and all facts presented by Mr. Bresnahan ($55,998.50) were
accurate, verified, and supported by a full and complete investigation.
Then and ONLY then would Mr. Decristofaro ($74,429.90) put his name on and
approve Mr. Bresnahan’s ($55,998.50) report. Wouldn’t you think?

The aforementioned “well compensated individuals” - have a
responsibility to get it right. The impact of NOT getting it right is a
curse that will plague the conscience (and sub conscience) forever; most
especially as each faces his or her mortality. As Very Rev. Fr. Dean Paleologos,
Pastor of St. Spyridon Greek Orthodox Cathedral in Worcester said to me
when Katherine Mangsen first initiated her complaints, and it became known
publicly the involvement of Mr. Kazlauskas in the issues, “We
all know your deep commitment to your faith and those that you have served
in their times of need. True judgment will be in the conscience of those
involved in this lifetime and with the Good Lord in the next”.

As it became crystal clear to everyone in attendance at the Administrative
Hearings to include Prosecution Attorneys, Read and Alexander, as well as
Anne Colleton, Administrative Hearings Counsel that the facts as presented
to the State Board were less than accurate and that the chronology of actions
by Mrs. Mangsen and Nordgren Memorial Chapel as presented by me in graph
form which precipitated the complaints, would have and should have been
enough of a “red flag” to those named herein
to put the brakes on the process and verify that which now shed “Light”
– “New Light” on the matter.
But apparently that would be asking too much and be a reflection of the
incompetence that permeated not only the individuals but the process –
and to the State Board, it was MORE important to convict someone unjustly,
than to be wrong in their initial assessment and stand up to their mistake.
How truly sad!!!

As those of you who know me know, I am a very spiritual and pious person.
My life has been that of giving to others, of which I am most proud. I anguish
to this very day for those listed above, for their families, and for those
I have noted on this web site as the “Most Despicable People I know”.
You have willed your future and your eternal soul to the “devil”,
and by-passed any chance of residing in God’s Eternal Kingdom. Apparently,
it means little to you today, but as evil befalls each of you (and it will
in this lifetime in some way, you will look back and say, “Could this
be the precursor to what is about to happen?” I so wish Mr. Kazlauskas
could tell you the “hell” he is experiencing at this very moment,
because he did not come clean before he passed to his eternal damnation.
Just maybe those involved in this miscarriage of justice (and we all know
who you are) could escape your eternal damnation, which is assured, as a
result of your participation in the conspiracy, corruption, and attempted
cover-up for your inappropriate actions.

Let me leave you with the following –

I was invited to a concert called – “Bill Gaither’s Homecoming
Tour” last weekend at the DCU Center (formerly the Centrum) in Worcester.
Not really familiar with Bill Gaither (other than that he had created a
group of Gospel Singers and was well known), Carolyn and I accepted an invitation
to witness and be a part of the audience for this concert. Well, were our
“Eyes Opened Wide”. A clergyman sitting behind me and who has
been an avid follower of the circumstances of the past 3 years and 7 months
said to me, “Wouldn’t it be a revelation to have all those
funeral directors and state employees who have been a part of this miscarriage
of justice to be here tonight and witness God’s priority in our lives.
Were that the case, I suggest to you each of those involved would be singing
a different hymn than that which they are singing today!” How
right he was!

The evening ended with a song sung by some 8,000 to 9,000 attendees with
their “Gaither Lights” moving back and forth in the darkened
hall to the words, “When you’re ready to find JESUS,
call on me!” In addition to those named throughout this
update, I add the names – Edward J. Mazur, Kim Pineau, Judith McCarthy,
James McWilliams, and David Brezniak (Mr. Brezniak, I realize you are of
the Jewish faith, but you get the message), “When you’re
ready to find JESUS, call on me!”

Let’s just hope, for your sake, it isn’t too late!!!!!

NEXT UPDATE – June 21, 2007.
