“Just how innocent was Mr. Mercadante will be discussed
in detail with his supporting testimony and testimony of family members
who have lost loved ones”

As you know (and in the event you do not know), I only present information
based on the “real” facts and NOT “make believe”
facts as presented by Mrs. Mangsen, Mr. Johnson, and the individual, Mr.
Meradante, who was to be the subject of this update. But events of the past
week have altered my plans for this update, as it is my intent not only
to present the real facts at all times but to present supporting information
and documentation, which I term - Veritable Facts
(which means their substance and content is without question).

Allegations made! Allegations disproved! What now?

On March 26, 2007 I submitted a request for all public records associated
in any way with the complaints filed against me with the State Board of
Funeral Directors and Embalmers by Mrs. Mangsen. On Tuesday, April 24, 2007
at the offices of the Division of Professional Licensure in Boston, I reviewed
records (woefully deficient records, I might add) that were assembled and
identified in no specific order in a conference room on the 5th floor at
239 Causeway Street, Boston.

During this inspection of the records presented for my review was correspondence
from Mr. Mercadante and his counsel in Worcester to the Board relevant to
the issues before us, Mr. Mercadante’s actions and assertions, and
information that sheds new light on the matter. In order to continue to
be accurate and exact in my presentation on this web site, I have decided
to hold off until I have in my possession the actual documents from Mr.
Mercadante and his attorneys before presenting the information herein. At
that time, I shall publish the exact correspondence(s) “as is”
in order that you may judge for yourself the motives of not only Mr. Mercadante,
but others already mentioned in this update and others referenced in previous
updates.

Without getting into specifics at this time, suffice it to say “new
light” found its way into the process on April 24, 2007 – more
than three (3) years after Mrs. Mangsen filed the initial three (3) complaints
against me. The obvious “cozy” relationships amongst the parties
which I have described in detail over the years took on new meaning during
this brief review process. I shall soon produce on this web site the “Public
Records” for each of you to read for yourself and for you to make
your own judgments.

As you know, Mrs. Mangsen, treasurer, Nordgren Memorial Chapel filed complaints
against me – complaints that were not seen, were not read, and were
not reviewed by her husband, Kurt Mangsen, president and CEO of Nordgren
Memorial Chapel, more than two (2) years after they were filed by Mrs. Mangsen
– and reviewed then ONLY as a result of my presenting them for his
review during cross-examination of his testimony on March 31, 2006 during
the Administrative Hearings. Are you aware that Mrs. Mangsen and Nordgren
Memorial Chapel’s Corporate Counsel and clerk of the Corporation,
Scott S. Sinrich, Esq. took it upon themselves to contact the Funeral Monitor
(a Funeral Industry Publication) I and many many others (as you saw from
emails received and published in the April 19, 2007 Update on this web site)
consider to be the caliber of a “supermarket tabloid” publication
and present distorted information that was presented as such? I shall soon
release a series of emails and correspondences generated by Mrs. Mangsen
and Nordgren’s legal counsel, which I suspect will shock you, the
reader, even more than what you have experienced to date.

To those of you in funeral service, I ask that as you read the information,
documentation, and actual correspondences I shall present in their original
form – that you ask yourself, “Am I proud to be a funeral director
in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts today and are the statements and actions
presented in detail reflective of the public’s perception of funeral
service today?”

In summing up my comments for this somewhat abbreviated update, I will
share with you a conversation I have had since the April 19, 2007 Update.
While on travel during this time, I had the occasion to meet and speak with
a Catholic Bishop. We got on the subject of – “is there a heaven
and is there a hell?” The bishop referred to the canons of the Catholic
Church and eloquently reiterated a statement made by the Pope just days
earlier. The Bishop said, “Mr. Haddad, there certainly is a celestial
body referred to as “heaven” and their certainly is a “hell”
and they are both – “Eternal”!

I asked, “Your Grace, is it the belief of the Catholic Church that
we shall see our loved ones in the next life?” His response, “We
believe that if the life lived is worthy of God’s good graces, - Yes,
you will be reunited with your loved ones as Christ comes again”.
Seeing that I had the Bishop’s attention and the look in his eye realizing
I had a deeper meaning when asking these questions, the Bishop stated, “And
Mr. Haddad, what’s the root of this line of questioning?”

I, then, very briefly alluded to the statements and actions of Mr. Mercadante,
Mrs. Mangsen, Mr. Johnson and others – without mentioning their names,
and asked, “Your Grace, would you suspect or is it the belief of the
Catholic Church that maligned statements and actions of the nature presented
would enable or allow the aforementioned unnamed individuals the possibility
of being reunited with their departed loved ones at their time of judgment?”
The Bishop’s response, “Mr. Haddad, “heaven” is
eternal as “hell” is eternal. There is NO second chance to right
a wrong or make good after you pass from this life. That is why people ask
forgiveness of the Lord, make right that which they have done wrong, where
possible, and approach the Lord with a cleansed heart. This need be done
through humility and not a last minute act of desperation. To answer your
question, I suspect the parties to whom you refer, unless they take immediate
action to readjust their lives, will spend eternity without benefit of parole
in a place worse than anything either of us can imagine”.

Pretty Powerful Statements, wouldn’t you say?

As I have stated on so very many occasions, “No one is so wealthy
or successful that they can afford to waste one day of their earthly journey!”
I have spent three and one-half (3 1/2) years of my life defending my name
and reputation from those who would unjustly and wrongfully take that which
I have spent a life time building away from me by devious and deceitful
means. I have identified the conspiracy. I have identified the corruption.
And I have identified the individuals labeled conspirators. Yes, it was
a “witch hunt” from its inception. Yes, it was a “character
assassination attempt” from the outset. And yes, “Justice often
comes at a very high price”.

Justice will come to me; but unfortunately at a very high price for the
names and reputations of many in funeral service as well as those who have
abused, misused, and compromised the public trust.

May the Good Lord have pity on the souls of those who will soon be judged
for their misdeeds.

Respectfully,
Philip G. Haddad, Jr.
