<p><strong>The second portion of this update includes an appeal to Governor
Romney</strong></p>
<p>The information gathered from the investigation is so compelling, as it
is indicative of the selling of one’s conscience (if not one’s
sole) by several parties to the conspiracy. I shall elaborate as I pick
up from where I left off in Part 1 of the 12 Part Series.</p>
<p>Mrs. Mangsen and Ms. Wiles needed to recruit a funeral director at Nordgren
Memorial Chapel to their cause in order to lend credibility to their attempt
to assassinate my character. Kurt wanted no part of their vicious and malicious
plans. Ross Johnson was too much of a “rookie funeral director”;
and as mentioned in previous updates, I was the mentor to/for Ross in the
process of learning to deal with families experiencing a loss and over time
we developed a great deal of respect for each other. (I even offered to
co-sign a mortgage application for a home Ross was considering putting in
an offer for, since he did not have sufficient credit and he was unwilling
to ask his parents for assistance). So Ross was not going to be a credible
co-conspirator for their plan. </p>
<p>That left Ron Johnson! If Ron could be enticed (not a difficult task as
you will soon see) to become a party to the conspiracy that had been underway
for several months, his participation would lend credence to the actions
taken to date by Katherine Mangsen with the assistance of Ms. Wiles. </p>
<p>Why would Ron Johnson buy into such a devious and deceptive plan of action,
especially in light of the 25 year friendship we had developed during this
period? Suffice it to say as alluded to in previous updates, I investigated
the “grape vine” allegations made about Ross Johnson, found
them to be less than accurate, and I was instrumental in Kurt’s decision
to hire Ross. Additionally, as Ron Johnson will clearly acknowledge, I also
was instrumental in bringing Ron and the Mangsen’s together ultimately
resulting in Ron Johnson becoming a funeral director at Nordgren’s.
Then why in God’s Holy World would he (Ronald Johnson) turn so violently
on me? To this day, I cannot understand his actions.</p>
<p>Let’s now turn for a moment to Ron Johnson’s participation
in the early stages of the Mangsen’s scheme, which you will see in
the coming weeks is crumbling before their eyes.</p>
<p>Katherine Mangsen, with the able assistance of her partner in crime, Gail
Wiles, opened mail addressed specifically to me in early October 2003 from
the Clergy of St. George Orthodox Cathedral, St. Mary’s Assumption
Albanian Orthodox Church both in Worcester, and St. Nicholas Orthodox Church
in Shrewsbury. All the while knowing I was awaiting the responses from the
Orthodox Clergy; Ms. Wiles continued to deny the responses had arrived.
It was not until I received a phone call from the publisher of the Orthodox
Calendars in late October 2003 indicating Mrs. Mangsen was attempting to
change the format used for the past 23 years for the calendars to be provided
to the Orthodox Community that I knew once again mail addressed to me was
opened without my permission and action taken without my knowledge. </p>
<p>Now caught with their so called “pants down” (referring to
Mrs. Mangsen & Ms. Wiles) and no place to go, Mrs. Mangsen proceeded
to send correspondence to the three (3) Orthodox Clergy indicating that
Nordgren Memorial Chapel would not be providing the annual calendars to
the churches for 2004 – correspondence also prepared and delivered
without my knowledge. As you would suspect, the clergy contacted me immediately,
since the date had long passed for other arrangements to be made for a December
delivery of the calendars. Stunned, shocked, but not surprised by the reckless
actions of Mrs. Mangsen, I reassured the Orthodox clergy I would personally
see to the delivery of the calendars and that my wife, Carolyn, and I would
sponsor the calendars. This was accomplished successfully thanks to the
cooperation of Vestal Publishing Company, a truly professional printing
company.</p>
<p>Aware of this blasphemous action by Mrs. Mangsen, Ronald Johnson became
desperately concerned that if Mrs. Mangsen would do this to me, what would
she do to him or his son, Ross, if he did not cooperate fully in the conspiracy
now well defined. Where would he and his son, Ross, go in order to continue
to serve his Armenian Families? Not only did Ron Johnson willingly “bite
into the apple”, he assumed a prominent role in the attempt at the
assassination of my character. </p>
<p>Ron Johnson was informed by Katherine & Kurt Mangsen that they had
made the decision to terminate me, but wanted to make sure it was accomplished
with cause, and could Ron Johnson speak with Jack Kazlauskas, Chairman of
the State Board, and a long-time friend of Mr. Johnson. Ron was pleased
to do so and contacted Jack Kazlauskas. Within days, Mr. Bresnahan, investigator
for the State Board of Registration of Funeral Directors & Embalmers,
conducted a surprise inspection at Nordgren Memorial Chapel. Six and a half
hours later I was served with a letter of termination signed by Kurt Mangsen
and delivered by a constable at my residence.</p>
<p>What Mr. Johnson made up and supposedly volunteered to the investigator;
but regardless, what he said to the investigator and what he repeated at
the December 9, 2003 meeting of the State Board (statements we have in his
own voice on tape) are so chilling that it will make “the hair stand
up on the back of your neck” when we publish them in Part 3 of the
12 Part Series scheduled for February 28, 2006.</p>
<p>A question we will ask Mr. Johnson at that time is, “What are your
plans for eternity?” Remember, Mr. Kazlauskas!!!!!!!!!!!!!</p>
<p> The following correspondence was forwarded to Governor Mitt Romney on
January 31, 2006. At the end of the correspondence I indicated I would publish
this correspondence on Friday, February 10, 2006 and release the same correspondence
to the media the same day. It was suggested that I wait a bit longer to
print this correspondence on this web site www.justiceatwhatprice.com to
allow discussions on this matter to take place. I waited 10 additional days
and now provide this correspondence for the public record.</p>
<p>I have yet to officially release the correspondence and results of our
investigation to the media; as it is not my intent now or ever to make this
a political issue – although what I am prepared to prove will most
certainly be a major embarrassment to Governor Romney, his administration,
and potentially, the Attorney General. <br>

<p><strong>Extremely Important</strong></p>
<p><strong>Dear Governor Romney:</strong></p>
<p><strong>State Officials implicated in targeted “Witch Hunt!”</strong></p>
<p><strong><em>Governor Romney asked to appoint an independent commission
to review the matter.</em></strong></p>
<p>After two plus years and an estimated $800,000 later and counting (approximately
2/3rds or $500K+ of which is Massachusetts taxpayer dollars), the “Witch
Hunt” of enormous proportions initiated by the wife of a Central
Massachusetts funeral home owner and championed by the Chairman, State
Board of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers and its lead
investigator, lingers on within the State Board of Registration of Funeral
Directors and Embalmers and the Division of Professional Licensure.</p>
<p>Mrs. Katherine Mangsen, wife of Kurt Mangsen, president, Nordgren Memorial
Chapel, in Worcester has filed at least six (6) complaints against Philip
G. Haddad, Jr., an owner and 9+year employee at Nordgren Memorial Chapel
with the State Board of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.
Not only is Mrs. Mangsen not a registered or licensed funeral director,
she had been angling to get rid of Mr. Haddad for more than a year by
attempting to discredit Mr. Haddad in the Orthodox Community – the
Community he served as the ONLY Orthodox funeral director in Central Massachusetts
since 1981.</p>
<p>Mrs. Mangsen found willing co-conspirators in the persons of John J.
Kazlauskas, Chairman of the State Board of Registration of Funeral Directors
and Embalmers and Worcester Funeral home owner and licensed funeral director
in 2003 (now deceased); and State Board investigator, John Bresnahan.</p>
<p>“We might never have known the full impact of the colossal conspiracy
that has taken on a life of its own had it not been for the audio recording
of a December 9, 2003 meeting of the State Board of Registration of Funeral
Directors and Embalmers – a tape recording that was withheld from
me and my attorneys for almost a year until it was released to us after
distorted portions of conversations of the December 9, 2003 meeting of
the State Board were published in the funeral industry publication –
The Funeral Monitor,” says Mr. Haddad. </p>
<p>With the audio tape in our possession and a transcribed document of the
recorded meeting now available, we are seeking a fair and just review
of the following facts by an independent commission or panel appointed
by Governor Romney. Up to now, our requests have fallen on deaf ears by
the Governor, Lt. Governor, the Inspector General, and the Ethics Commission
with each entity indicating they did not either have jurisdiction or it
didn’t fall clearly within their purview. “We have found ‘justice
comes at a very high price in Massachusetts’ – if in fact
justice is possible at all in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts”,
says Haddad. </p>
<p>The documented facts are:</p>
<ul>
<li> FACT: On November 19, 2003 Mr. John Bresnahan, investigator, State Board
of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers conducted a random
and unannounced inspection (although there are reports that the inspection
may well not have been random, but deliberately targeted by the State
Board Chairperson, John J. Kazlauskas – now deceased) at Nordgren
Memorial Chapel, 300 Lincoln Street, Worcester, MA.</li>
<li> FACT: During the inspection a completed file for the funeral of Mrs.
Gianoula Bahaviolos, the Cost of Goods and Services form was not found
in the file by Mr. Bresnahan. Mr. Haddad, the funeral director of record,
who was not at the office at the time, was contacted by phone and Mr.
Haddad spoke with Mr. Bresnahan. Mr. Haddad indicated he thought he might
have a tissue copy of the original in a locked file in his automobile
and if found would fax it to Mr. Bresnahan, which was accomplished within
minutes of the phone call.</li>
<li> FACT: Intimated by Mr. Bresnahan’s comments “What I have
discovered is going to get you a quick trip before the State Board”
and since Mrs. Mangsen had been doing everything in her power to find
a legitimate reason to terminate Mr. Haddad; that very same day within
six (6) hours of the visit by Mr. Bresnahan, Mr. Haddad was served with
a letter of termination without notice or explanation from his 9+ year
employment at Nordgren Memorial Chapel by its president, Kurt Mangsen,
while Mr. Haddad was then and still is to this day an owner of the funeral
home.</li>
<li> FACT: Mr. Haddad was requested to appear at a December 9, 2003 meeting
of the State Board of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers
by correspondence from Mr. Bresnahan date November 29, 2003. Mr. Haddad
postponed business travel – a presentation and two scheduled meetings
in NYC to accommodate the request.</li>
<li> FACT: Mr. Haddad attended the meeting on December 9, 2003 of the
State Board and received less than a professional welcome, finding the
atmosphere unusually hostile and unprofessional as compared to previous
visits before the State Board. Suspecting “foul play,” Mr.
Haddad asked if the meeting was being recorded and if so, could he have
a copy of the audio tape of this public meeting? Assured the meeting
was being recorded; the official request was made to the State Board
at that time and followed up by email the very next day. (<strong>Please
Note:</strong> it took more than 10 months to obtain the audio proceedings
of the December 9, 2003 meeting of the State Board and numerous correspondences
from Mr. Haddad’s attorneys before the facts validated what our
investigation had suspected for months, specifically – prior to
Mr. Haddad’s appearance at the State Board meeting on December
9, 2003 the chairman of the State Board (Mr. Kazlauskas) had made vicious,
libelous, prejudicial, and defaming remarks against Mr. Haddad to the
full Board, its legal counsels, and public attendees – remarks
that included addressing Mr. Haddad as a <strong>“snake”</strong>
and <strong>“carpetbagger”</strong>).</li>
<li>FACT: At this point, Mr. Kazlauskas was advised by counsel to recuse himself
as chairperson and member for the proceedings of the meeting, which he
did. After Mr. Haddad’s participation at and departure from the
meeting and prior to Nordgren Memorial Chapel, the Mangsen Family, and
their attorney being invited into the meeting; Mr. Kazlauskas re-assumed
his role as Chairperson and member of the State Board and proceeded to
continue to chastise Mr. Haddad in the presence of the Mangsen’s
and their attorney further addressing Mr. Haddad as a “carpetbagger”
and “snake” – while members of the State Board, its
legal counsels, and the public attendees listened and watched - allowing
the proceedings to continue. </li>
<li> FACT: Mr. Kazlauskas and Mr. Bresnahan, the Board investigator immediately
proceeded to <em><strong>advise, encourage,</strong></em> and <em><strong>direct</strong></em>
the Mangsen’s and their attorney in the process to file complaints
against Mr. Haddad and the conspiracy and targeted agenda began to unravel
– <em><strong>and it’s all on a tape recording in our possession!</strong></em></li>
<li> FACT: Three (3) complaints were filed against Mr. Haddad between December
9, 2003 and May 2004 by Mrs. Mangsen; each of which were responded to
in detail by Mr. Haddad. Absolutely NO credence was afforded Mr. Haddad’s
detailed responses (backed by fact), and the State Board in the person
of its new Chairperson, Ms. Cartmell-Siricco, issued a Letter to Show
Cause to Mr. Haddad dated June 29, 2004.</li>
<li>FACT: Shocked by the Letter to Show Cause and at this point unaware of
the colossal conspiracy that had been initiated on or before December
9, 2003, Mr. Haddad, a one-time federally trained and certified Grievance
Examiner during his 32 year career in government service, commenced his
own investigation resulting in the exposure of corruption, cover up, and
blatant incompetence, if not intentional deceit, by person(s) within the
State Board and Division of Professional Licensure.</li>
<li>FACT: Plagued by mounting legal bills and the fact that Mr. Haddad, the
ONLY Eastern Orthodox Funeral Director in Central Massachusetts, was not
able to serve his constituents and client base; Mr. Haddad created the
web site “Justice At What Price” - www.justiceatwhatprice.com.</li>
<li> FACT: Numerous appeals were forwarded to the Governor, Lt. Governor,
the Attorney General, the Director of the Office of Consumer Affairs and
Business Regulations, the Inspector General, the Ethics Commission, Mr.
Haddad’s State Senator and Representative – looking for the
appropriate agency or department within the Commonwealth to report the
facts to support the corruption and conspiracy uncovered and have the
findings investigated and verified with documentation Mr. Haddad and his
investigation had gathered.</li>
<li> FACT: Either NO one in the Commonwealth of Massachusetts in the offices
listed above have knowledge of an investigative arm of the Commonwealth
that has responsibility to investigate corruption within its own ranks
OR they are just unwilling to investigate their own; more than a year
has passed since Governor Romney was first contacted and he and his administration
do not want to know of and quite frankly, could care less about addressing
corruption within the Commonwealth of Massachusetts.</li>
</ul>
<p>Without getting to the specifics of our investigation and publicly stating
all the facts and our findings in detail, for that would be too voluminous
for this correspondence, <strong>I ask Governor Romney as Chief Executive
of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts to appoint an independent panel/commission
to review the aforementioned allegations of abuse of power, corruption,
and cover up by appointed State Officials and Members of the State Board
of Registration of Funeral Directors and Embalmers.</strong> </p>

The full investigative file and audio tape of the early stages of the
conspiracy and subsequent cover-up remain in our possession and are available
to the appropriate investigative authorities.</p>

on February 10, 2006 and released to the media the very same day.</p>
