For over thirty years, Illustration House has been America's foremost gallery devoted to the art
and history of illustration. The gallery offers a fascinating look at the intersection of American popular
culture and art history over the past century through paintings, watercolors, and drawings of various styles, genres and subjects.

Proprietors Walt and Roger Reed, pre-eminent authorities in the field, have compiled a definitive historical reference, The Illustrator in America. This encyclopedic volume provides
information on over 450 artists from the early masters Howard Pyle and Norman Rockwell, to
contemporary notables Bernie Fuchs and Arthur Getz; all of these artists are featured in the gallery.

With Illustration House's founding in 1974, Walt pioneered the market in illustrative art. Originally based in Westport, Conn., Walt personally knew many of the great illustrators, and has authored monographs on Harold von Schmidt, John Clymer and Joseph Clement Coll. His son, Roger, joined him in 1981, and in 1987 they moved the gallery to New York City.

As director and manager of Illustration House, Roger has written articles, compiled An Index of
Illustrators, and is regulary called on by museums and auction houses regarding his specialty, authentication.

In addition to select exhibitions each year, the gallery holds twice-annual auctions of fine illustrative paintings and drawings, routinely breaking auction price records for illustrative works. The gallery publishes exhibit and auction catalogues. Located at 110 West 25 Street, New York, NY 10001, we can be reached by phone at (212)966-9444 or by fax at (212)966-9425.
