COURSE TITLE:  Fundamentals of Machine Electrification<P>

COURSE DESCRIPTION:  This course covers the interpretation of
wiring diagrams/schematics, symbols and terminology. Topics
also covered include: functions of electro-mechanical
devices, applications of magnetism, AC/DC currents, NEMA
design and specifications, troubleshooting procedures, and
other maintenance/service related subjects. Training will
consist of both classroom and hands-on lab, with an emphasis
to hands-on and applications.<P>

TEXTBOOK:  Electrical Motor Controls: Automated Electrical
Systems by Rockis & Mazur - Text & Workbook<P>

DURATION OF COURSE: Twenty One (21) hours - 7 weeks
3 hours, 1 day per week.<P>

CERTIFICATE: The student must not miss more than two (2)
sessions or attend less than 75% of the available
classroom/lab hours, whichever provides more instructional
time for the student. The student is responsible to catch up
on any missed work due to absence. The student must
participate in all class exercises. He/she must satisfy the
instructor that at least a minimal level of practical
comprehension has been attained.<P>

SKILLS:  The student that completes at least the minimum
required to receive a certificate of completion should be
able to:<P>
     Read and understand electrical schematics/diagrams.<P>
     Apply basic troubleshooting to determine circuit faults.<P>
     Isolate electrical and mechanical problems.<P>
     Recommend proper repair procedures.<P>
