... the view from Standard Lane... the Globostis Farm looked like this when I bought my own little piece of a farm here, over thirty years ago. And these lands have been cultivated since the time this area was first colonized. Some years this field has been in corn and some years it's soybeans... and this is how it looks in November of 2018. Mr. & Mrs. Globostis are both deceased a few years now, and their children have leased the tillable acreage to the Trexler Farm. This month, there is a sign posted on the property that advertises "Land For Sale". The Globostis Farm abuts what had been the <A HREF="/jmas46.html"> Cicon Farm</A>, before it was sold and turned into a housing development. That development was built with two cul de sacs adjacent, in anticipation and poised to extend into the Globostis land, once that deathly opportunity arrived. That time has now arrived. 31 million acres (US Gov figures), in total farmland, in the United States have been lost to development between the years of 1992 and 2012 alone. The loss continues... this is good farmland and it will never be recovered.<BR>
