... a run by... May 31, 2014... at the North Carolina Transportation Museum "Streamliners at Spencer" event. This FPA-4, was built for the Canadian National Railway (CN), by the Montreal Locomotive Works in 1959. It is a design variant based on the ALCO FPA-2, fitted with the 1,800 HP, V-12, ALCO 251 prime mover. CN #6789 was transferred to Via Rail Canada (VIA) in the late 1970's and retired in 1989. It was acquired privately in 1994 and restored to it's original Canadian National livery. CN #6789 currently pulls excursion trains for the Monticello Railway Museum in Illinois.<BR>
