Chicago Public Schools, Chicago - CTI's work on this current project consists of three major phases: <P>
<OL Type="a">
<LI> CTI performed a comprehensive security assessment to determine the current security baseline, resource allocation, and manpower levels. Based on this assessment, a program was designed to correct deficiencies, leverage innovative security technologies, and provide training to the staff and students in various areas. <P>
<LI> CTI is implementing and testing various aspects of installation and integration of security technology such as a biometric access control system, closed circuit television (CCTV) cameras, duress alarms for use in classrooms, x-ray and metal detection equipment, etc. CTI is also developing the training curriculum for the school administration, teachers and students. <P>
<LI> CTI will use the results gathered during the system implementation and testing to make minor adjustments and some reconfiguration of the security equipment, to determine the proper allocation of resources and manpower, and establish requirements for supplemental training.<P></OL>

A recent major project demonstrates CTI's ability to respond to security requirements in both depth and breadth: The CTI project involved security surveys of 1,479 Social Security Administration offices throughout the United States after the bombing of the Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City. The study included assessment of current security programs, physical security systems, security policies and procedures, emergency procedures, bomb threat procedures, violence in the workplace issues, conflict resolution programs, security training needs assessments, and recommendations, designs and costing data related to enhancement of the security program. The program was completed ahead of schedule and under budget.
