<p><font color="#333399" face="Times New Roman" size="3">AAT supports the Veteran's Health Administration, Office of Research and
Development (R&D) in the implementation of its strategic plan which includes
the re-engineering and integration of the workflows and computer systems relied
upon to track, manage, and report the status of project requests, proposals,
reviews, projects, and funding. R&D is comprised of approximately 150 field
sites located throughout the U.S. and a headquarters site located in Washington,
D.C. As a part of this support, AAT completed the requirements analysis and
prototype for the System for Tracking and Advancing Research (VA-STAR) to unify,
centralize, and standardize the headquarters, service office, and field office
workflows within an integrated web-based processing environment.</font></p>
<p><font color="#333399" face="Times New Roman" size="3">Additionally, AAT supports software which facilitates the submission and
tracking of grant proposals. AAT designed and developed a
user-friendly interface to this software which allows the user to respond
quickly to report requests without support from computer staff.</font></p>
<p><font color="#333399" face="Times New Roman" size="3">At VA�s Central Office and a remote location, AAT provides full computer
equipment and software support for 80 networked PCs, MS Windows NT 3.5 servers,
and communications for remote access. AAT staff installs and integrates PC
workstations as well as commercial off-the-shelf (COTS) software.</font></p>
<p><font color="#333399" face="Times New Roman" size="3">AAT
also provides administrative and program support staff to support the peer
review of research proposals. AAT performs various activities to
coordinate
the receipt and distribution of proposals, provides logistics support for meetings, processes travel
requests and reimbursement, provides general assistance during panel
discussions, provides program analysis and clerical support, and performs
database queries and data analysis.<br>
