instructors and curriculum
designers to the Patent Academy. Instructors must be knowledgeable on current
PTO procedures, practices, and management goals, present the most current
curriculum, administer an exam at the conclusion of the training, and provide
feed back to the Technology Center on student performance. Courses include:</font></p>

<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Patent Examiner Initial Training</font></i><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">, a two-week course, for newly hired
patent examiners which provides the basic elements of patent policy, rules and
regulations, current processes including the use of automated systems, ethics,
professional conduct, and customer service.</font></li>
<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">A similarly titled one-week course for non-patent examiners</font></li>
<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Intellectual property law courses provided over an eight-week period</font></li>
</ul>
<p><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Customized training services include:</font></p>

<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Design and development of Patent Processing Training</font></li>
<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Delivery of Patent Processing Courses</font></li>
<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Development and documentation of policy and procedure manuals, reference
materials, and job aids</font></li>
<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Individual Tutorials/Coaching</font></li>
<li><font size="3" face="Times New Roman" color="#000080">Topics -- Fee Processing, Financial Procedures, Document Analysis, Power
of Attorney, Amendment Entry, Issue Revision, Petitions/Matters decided by
PTO Officials, Appeal Process, Interference Proceedings<br>
