Goldstein Hovercraft, LLC offers a unique type of skirt.   Our skirts are extremely easy to assemble (compared to other model hovercraft designs).   <br>

Once assembled, the skirt gives increased obstacle clearance.  Indoors, the skirt helps the craft climb up and onto carpets, and then, at least for a  non-shag carpet, the skirt helps the craft skim across them.   Outdoors, the skirt allows the craft to negotiate life's inevitable bumps in the road.  <br>  <br>

The price of this obstacle clearance is that craft may be a bit slower with a skirt.    When the craft operates without a skirt, it truly hovers above the surface.  With a skirt attached, _most_ of the skirt is above the surface, but inevitably the skirt is not aligned perfectly and some of it touches the ground and causes minor drag.   <br><br>

Unfortunately, because all of the various hovercraft designs are rather lightweight, surface tension prevents models with skirts from going very quickly on water.  Fortunately, most crafts work quite well on water without skirts, again due to their lightweight design.   For faster action over wet or dry surfaces, the skirt can easily be detached in just a few seconds (and can be attached again almost as quickly).  <br><br>
