This book is that of an Encounter.
<br><br>
An Encounter with an Body of Work, Jean Royres. That of a vanguard talent radically using new materials and forms,
giving up neither his classical culture nor his predisposition for craftsmanship. A body of work totally, absolutely
personal. A poetic language often humorous, never esoteric. That of a man who knew how to adapt to his clients, their
origins, geography.
<br><br>
An Encounter with people Royres clients- in all countries and principally in the Middle East. Those who met Jean
Royre, often the day after their marriage. The decorator had furbished their apartment, their residence or their palace.
Most of the time these were kept intact till the day of our arrival.
<br><br>
Encounter with their children who grew up with Royres furniture, bounced on knees from his armchairs or had to take care
not to cause damage.
<br><br>
Encounter with their friends who caroused, socialized or danced until dawn in Royres interiors.
<br><br>
Encounter of fusion with the personality of this man who loved France, his country of origin, but who so loved travel in
Europe, the Middle East, in South and North America and finally settled in the USA (just like us).
<br><br>
Encounter with all our clients worldwide impassioned by the work of Royre with whom dialogue is so intense.
<br><br>
And then of course, the encounter a number of years ago with our American clients, private collectors, decorators or
museums who by their exceptional reception allowed us to remain Royre hunters. It is most of all to them that this
book is dedicated.
