It is maintained by the World Intellectual Property Organization (WIPO), the organization that administers the treaty through its International Bureau. The Hague Agreement of the general title for the evolution of the treaty, which consists of treaties as the needs for design registration developed. The latest treaty was the Geneva Act, approved in 1999. It is the only version that new members can join, and a member of earlier version must be a member of the Geneva Act to use that system. This proceduent procedure provides an evolution to the most compatible version. The Geneva Act is has provisions that are workable for novelty examination countries and countries that do not have novelty examination. These two groups of countries have many common features, and the Geneva Act allowed each of them to retain their basic system while setting up a common filing system. <p>The WIPO report is a PDF file that is updated frequently As of July 13, 2012, there are 45 members of the Geneva Act as of July 13, 2012, with several major design registration and design patent countries and regional organization as members.. The WIPO report also indicates the date of membership and other important information,and shows each Hague Agreement verson membership..
