<span class="text">3-Port Junction devices are commonly used for applications within scientific, military,<br />
medical, radar and industrial applications.
Ferrite offers 3-port junction devices which<br />
operate within industry standard bandwidths and ranging in frequency from 200MHz to<br />
25GHz. A 3-Port circulator
with one port terminated operates as an isolator.<br />
<br />
For a 3-Port junction device, the VSWR depicted as Return Loss in dB is the same as the<br />
isolation in dB, provided that the ports are terminated with a
perfect match. If a unit has a<br />
termination on one port, then the VSWR of the termination will modify the intinsic junction<br />
isolation. For a requirement
of a junction circulator plus a load termination it is best to<br />
purchase this as an assembly. This assembly can be tuned to have a conjugate match<br />
between
the circulator and termination, which increases the isolation above that achiev-<br />
able as individual components bolted together.</span></div>
