Justinian Tennison/Tennyson Family<P>



Justinian /Tennis/Dennis/Tennison was born in Yarmouth or Weymouth, England around 1632 and he died in Charles County, MD before 1699.  His wife's name was Catherine Gresham, born about 1634, daughter of John Gresham.  John Gresham died in 1655, Northumberland Co., VA. Justinian Dennis/Tennison came to America in 1668 and was listed in Skordas Immigration List as Justinian Dennis. 1720 - Joe Noe, age abt. 21 years.  Deposition:  14 June 1720, that he heard Justinian Tennison say he was born in Weymouth, England.  Ct. & Land Records H#2.415<P>



1725 - John Noe, Sr. - Next of kin:  James Jones, Peter Noe.  Admrs:  John Noe, Abell Noe. Inventory: 11.21; 11 May 1725; 3 Sept 1725.<P>



1726 - John NOE and his wife Sarah (TENNYSON) conveyed on 27 Feb 1726, a tract called LOMLEY, lying on s. side of the main Swamp that falls in Piles Fresh, cont. 125 acres, and on 25 Sept., 1727, part of tract called LOMLEY, cont 100 acres (Land:L#2.335, 389)<P>



1729 - John Noe - Next of kin:  Joseph Semson, Sarey Semson.  Admr:  Sarah Noe.  Inventory. 15.80; 12 July 1729; 23 Aug 1729.<P>

Vincent Mansell was first married to Miss Foster, d/o Richard Foster.  He then married Jane Tennison and it appears that Vincent died in 1687 and Jane died circa 1689.  Vincent was probably related to John Mansell who died in St. Mary's County in 1660. <P>

Thursday, 21 August, 1760 - A few weeks ago in Charles County, Mr. Burrows "a very imprudent young Man," went to the house of John Cooksey in order to Shoot Cooksey's dog.  He shot Mrs. Cooksey (in her foot), the infant in her arms, three other children and Mr. Cooksey.  It appears all will survive.<P>

Hezekiah Cooksey was a Private, 1st Maryland LIne, enrolled and passed on July 8, 1765.  Private, Militia, 12th Battalion, Capt. Benjamin Lusby Corry's Company, 1777.  Resident of Newport Hundred in 1778.<P>



John Cooksey, son of Justinian and Sarah Cooksey was born March 21, 1738.  Took the Oath of Allegiance in 1778.  Resident of Newport West Hundred in 1778.<P>



Justinian Cooksey was a Private in the Maryland Militia, 12th Battalion, Capt. Benjamin Lusby Corry's Company, 1777.<P>



Thomas Nally took the Oath of Allegiance in 1778.  <P>
