Theodore Schultz was born in 1770 in Gerdauen, East Prussia, the son of Gottfried Heinrich Schultz and Anna Christina August, and died in August 1850.  As a young man he served as a missionary to Surinam, but returned to Bethlehem PA in 1806 and later came to North Carolina.  He married <A HREF="loesch.html">Susanna Catharina Elisabeth Loesch</A> (1771-1855), daughter of Jacob Loesch and Anna Blum.<P>

Children of Theodore Schultz and Susanna Loesch<BR>
Lisetta Schultz (1800-1877) did not marry, was a teacher in Bethlehem PA and in the Salem girls' school.  <BR>
Caroline Schultz (1802-1860) m. <A HREF="steiner1.html">Charles Abraham Steiner</A> (1797-1879)<BR>
Theodora Schultz (1804-1870) m. <A HREF="schumann.html">Dr. Friedrich Heinrich Schumann</A> (1777-1862), his second wife (the first was <A HREF="leinbach.html">Johanna Salome Leinbach</A> who died in 1821)<BR>
August Heinrich Schultz (1806-1885), became a Moravian bishop.  He m. 1) <A HREF="bagge.html">Rebecca Matilda Bagge</A>, 2) Elizabeth Wolle<P>

According to the card file in the Moravian Archives, August Heinrich Schultz was the father of six children.  <P>

Lucinda Bagge's will (dated May 1866) names nephew Charles Bagge Shultz and nieces Mary Eliza, wife of D.A.N. Leinback, and Susan C., wife of Herman Brickenstein.  We suspect that Mary Eliza and Susan C. are also Shultz children.  Who were the others?<P>
