White, Genealogical Abstracts of Revolutionary War Pension Files (Waynesboro, TN: Nat. Hist. Pub. Co. 1990), for some files not personally abstracted. <P> Elizabeth's ancestors Abel and Lucy (Bennett) Edwards migrated from Stokes Co., NC, to Monroe Co., IN, about 1830 and then to Lucas Co., IA, by 1855, as did a number of Stokes and Surry County families. She believes Abel Edwards (b. 1810) to be a nephew of Joseph Edwards, Revolutionary War veteran. Lucy was the daughter of James Bennett and Mary G.
