John Linville was one of the first settlers on the Tyger River, South Carolina and by 1753, both sons had moved to Rowan County. Thomas purchased 206 acres on Belews Creek (near present-day Kernersville) and William Linville was the original owner of Tanglewood Park (near present-day Clemmons, North Carolina).
