In Accomacke County, VA, 30 Dec. 1633, Henry Lee was to serve the full term of his indenture to James Berry. In July, 1636 a land grant for 350 acres on Magatie Bay, Accomack County to James Berry for transportation of himself and five others: Henry Lee, Mary Nelson, Joseph Hally, Mary Nablett and Robert Man. Accomack County was renamed Northampton County about 1642/43.
In January, 1636 James Berry was ordered to pay Francis Stockley 125 pounds of tobacco due. A deposition recorded in Acomack County in 1637, was signed by James Berry and his wife Elizabeth. James Berry had many land transactions: To George Frizzell, 600 acres (10 Oct. 1657) at Magaty Bay; 350 acres and 250 acres, formerly John Neal's; 350 acres granted to James Berry (22 Aug. 1637) and 250 acres by patent to him dated 10 Oct. 1640, assigned to Capt. Francis Pott and by him assigned unto said Frizzell. On August 22, 1657, William Berry "son and heir of James Berry" confirmed his father's sale of two tracts, 350 acres and 250 acres to Francis Pott on May 14, 1655.
A tract named Mount Pleasant of 400 acres on the Patuxent River was surveyed for James Berry in 1653.
