He married Maria Barbara Dreher (1703-1757) in 1729 in Preuschdorf, Alsace, daughter of Hans Michael Dreher. She was a widow by 1738 when she immigrated to America with her son Johann Martin. Church records in Alsace name three other children who do not appear in the ship's records. <P> Maria Barbara married <A HREF="greter.html">Jacob Greter</A> in November 1738 in Muddy Creek PA.
