Please <A HREF="mailto:[email protected], [email protected]">write us</A>. </B><P> </CENTER> <H3><IMG SRC="coff.gif">Hampton Family</H3><P> <HR> <h4> Collins Hampton was born in Pittsylvania County or Patrick County, VA, ca 1737.� He died in Surry County, NC in February 1805.� The names of his wife, father, and mother are missing from the records.� The names of Collins children, as listed in the Will, but not in order of birth, are Stephen, Joshua, Henry, Anne, Rachael, Lucy, Sarah, Patsy"Martha", and Nancy.� Stephen (ca1768) and Joshua (ca1772) were born in Patrick or Pittsylvania County, VA� Patsy "Martha" was born (ca1770), [County/State not shown].� The other children were born in Surry County, NC <P> State of North Carolina/County of Stokes}<P> At Superior Court held for Stokes County aforesaid on the third Monday after the 4th Monday of March 1852.� Satisfactory evidence was addressed in Court that Alexander Hampton, Stephen Shelby Hampton, and Mary Hampton who had intermarried to Joseph Terry are the only surviving children of the late Stephen Hampton and his heirs at law in fee to said Stephen Hampton late a private in the Company� Commanded by Captain George Cloud of the 10th Regiment of Infantry enlisted for five years on the 23rd October 1812 and died while in the Service of the United States on the 26th of August 1813 as appears from a Certificate from the Commissioner of Pensions of the United States dated the 11th March 1852.<P> I, Samuel Taylor, Clerk of the Superior Court for the County of Stokes, aforesaid, do certify that the above evidence is taken from the Records in my office.� In Testimony whereof, I have hereunto affixed my official Seal and Subscribed my name this 15th day of April 1852.� Samuel Taylor, CSC.<P> <HR> Children of Stephen Hampton (1768-1813) and Elizabeth Walker (1780-1852)<BR> Alexander Hampton (1803-aft. 1852) m. 1) Elender Childs Hickman (1804-1858); 2) Martha Ann Robertson (1829-1885)<BR> Stephen Shelby Hampton (1813-1883) m. <a href="tuttle.html">Martha Jane Tuttle</a> (1815-1885)<BR> Mary Hampton (?-1852) m. Elizabeth Walker Hampton remained a widow for about seven years after the death of her husband, Stephen Hampton, then married a John Cox.
