Moravian records give his parents as Johann Gottfried Eberhard and Barbara Margaretha Scheid. In 1800 he married Juliana Michel (1770-1856).

Second Generation
Children of Johann Ludwig Eberhard and Juliana Michel
Lewis Eberhard (Everhart) (1804-1854) m. Catharina Blum (1809-1891)
Christian T. Franz Eder.
The will of Anna Catharina (Antes) Ernst, written in 1815, leaves a small silver snuffbox to Juliana Everhard, a desk and earrings to Carolina Everhard, and a gold medal to Christian Everhard.
Carolina Everhard is presumably the Single Sister who entered service in the Girls' Boarding School in 1820 (Records of the Moravians in NC 7:3434). She married Franz Eder in 1828, and soon afterwards they moved to the Cherokee mission in northern Georgia.
b) Carl Theodore Eberhard m. Elisabeth Noles
Carl Eberhard is mentioned in 1823 as having left the Salem boys' school. Two other boys who left at the same time, William Meinung and Noah Hauser, were both born in 1809, and it is likely that Carl was approximately the same age. He is probably also the Carl Theodore Eberhardt who married Elisabeth Noles in 1840. They were the parents of a son William Henry Eberhard who was born in June 1842 and died a few months later.

Third Generation
Children of Lewis Everhart and Catharina Blum
Julia Caroline Everhart (1835-1927) m. Samuel Edwin Butner (1833-1918)
Sophia Catharina Everhart (1837-1910) did not marry
Lewis D.
