First Generation

Perry Chinn was born in 1763 in Stafford County VA, doubtless a descendant of the large and prolific Chinn family of northern Virginia, but we don't know his parents' names. He married Elizabeth Evans before 1789, and probably in the early 1790s moved with her to North Carolina, settling in the part of Surry County that later became Yadkin. After her death he married Elizabeth Carr. He died in 1847 and is buried in a family graveyard in Yadkin County.
