VA. A number of web pages name his parents as William and Amy or Amey Barrow. His wife Jemima, whose surname we don't know, appears in the 1850 Forsyth Co. census age 83, living with her son Philip, and is listed as born in North Carolina. Moses appears in the 1790 Stokes Co. census with 1 male under 16 and four females. His will, probated Stokes Co. NC in September 1840, names wife Jemima, sons Aaron, Philip and Moses, daughters Elizabeth and Amy, and deceased children Fanny Dobson, William and Charles Barrow and their heirs.

Second Generation
Children of Moses and Jemima Barrow
Elizabeth Barrow m. [from obituary, People's Press]
Philip's will, dated 1866 and probated 1872, names these three children and a grandson Henry R. Barrow. Reuben and Susan's husband Romulus Cox are executors. The abstract of the will published by the FCGS does not indicate that James is deceased, but we think he must be the James L. Barrow buried in the Zimmerman family cemetery in Stanleyville, and that his widow is the Celestia Barrow who married George W. Flynt in 1865. The Flynts do not appear in the Forsyth Co. census in 1870 or 1880, but in 1870 Philip and Elizabeth's household includes Henry Barrow age 9, as well as Romulus and Susan Cox and their daughter Lula, age 2. In 1880, R.A. (Reuben) and "Vic" Barrow are living with Romulus and Susan Cox, as is Henry Barrow age 15, listed as nephew.
----------
Children of John H. In 1930 Mary is listed as age 58, Is this the same child?
----------
Children of Henry W. Barrow and Nannie Webster Florence Barrow (1875-1947) apparently didn't marry
Henry and Nannie must have married sometime between 1870 and 1875, but we didn't find a marriage record for them in Forsyth County. In 1880 they are living in Forsyth Co., however, and Nancy Webster age 65 is with them, identified as Henry's mother-in-law. Florence is their only child in 1880, and the only one named in his will.
----------
Children of James E. Barrow and Nancy J. Whicker
Eliza Ann Barrow (1860-1862)
Henry S. Barrow (b. & d. 1862)
The baby Lelia S. appears in the 1860 census with James and Celestia. The Forsyth Co. cemetery records book lists "Lewis S. Barrow" 1859-1860, buried in the Zimmerman family cemetery. We believe that this is the same child. In the same cemetery is listed the baby Mary E., who was born in November 1862 and lived only 11 days, and is probably also the daughter of James and Celestia. The remaining child, Henry R., does not appear in the 1860 census, but is named as a grandson in Philip Barrow's will as indicated above. Lelia Wrightson and Celestia Barrow, daughters of H.R. Barrow, are named as granddaughters in the will of L.F. Davis, November 1909, Forsyth Co.

Sources
Forsyth Co. NC cemetery records
Stokes and Forsyth Co.
