First Generation

Contrary to what was formerly posted on this page, Jacob Arney (1728-1782) was NOT the son of Frederick and Anna Maria Arney of Berks Co. PA. Jacob's first wife was Anna Ursula Kron, daughter of Lorenz Kron and Ann Ursula Bender. After her death he married a woman named Elizabeth, perhaps Elizabeth Hall.

Christian Arney was born in Yorktown, PA about 1750 [error corrected Feb 7, 2020]. He enlisted in the Rev. War in 1781 while living in Lincoln County, NC and was ordered to make 85 pairs of shoes. Matthew Wilson was a son-in-law of Christian Arney and stated that Christian died in 1834. (Rev. War Pension Applicants S 23180, extracted by Elizabeth Osenbaugh.) Descendants of this family moved from NC to Owen County, Indiana
