Overview

OXKO has been providing training, consulting, and custom development
of knowledge based systems and expert systems, and expert systems development
tools and products since 1985.

Knowledge based systems and expert systems are computer programs that
provide data, information, knowledge, expertise, and experience on particular
subjects to users. Expert systems are job aids that provide their users
with important information at exactly the moment it is needed, at exactly
the place where it is needed. Expert systems are knowledge conduits.

Technology Introduction

Using its proven presentations and courses on the technology and tools,
OXKO Corporation can assist your organization in the introduction of
the Expert System Technology.

Presentations are available for top and middle management personnel.
Hands-on courses are available for engineers, data processing professionals,
and other professionals. The courses are built around the utilization
of cost effective, easy to learn, personal computer expert system development
tools. The expertise gained through these courses can be used on personal
computers, minicomputers, and mainframe computers, already owned and
used by most organizations.

Training Offerings

The OXKO Corporation provides knowledge engineering, and expert system
and knowledge based system development courses. Course offerings include:
Introduction to Knowledge Engineering, Knowledge Acquisition, Advanced
Knowledge Engineering, Introduction to Case Based Reasoning, Expert
System Development Methodology, Apprenticeship, and Special Development
Courses. Our courses are available either with commercial, off-the-shelf
tool training or generic where they can be utilized with any tool a
client might have. For more information on course offerings, please
request a copy of the OXKO Course Offering Brochure.

Apprenticeship

OXKO is available to provide apprenticeship training to organizations
who have taken training courses yet feel they need support during the
development of their first applications. OXKO can support organizations
with three application development projects. OXKO will develop the first
application with client personnel observing. For the second application,
OXKO and client personnel will develop the system together. For the
third application, OXKO personnel observe client personnel developing
the system, and provide assistance where necessary. This is beneficial
for getting client personnel more effective training and getting three
important applications developed.

Feasibility Studies

Many organizations are investigating the possibility of developing
expert systems and are looking for a way to get started. OXKO provides
one pragmatic means to support investigating the feasibility of the
application of expert systems.

A representative of OXKO will sit down with client representatives
and acquire requisite data, information, and application knowledge.
The acquired material will first be used to ascertain the feasibility
of supporting the selected application effectively with an expert system.

The feasibility study will consider technological issues, organizational
issues, resource requirement issues, and issues related to interoperability
between the expert system application and other computer based applications
as well as manual systems that the organization presently has in place.

The second use of the acquired material would be to develop an expert
system prototype.

Custom Development

OXKO is available to provide custom development services. OXKO has
developed a number of custom knowledge bases and expert systems. Utilizing
OXKO's standard expert system development methodology, OXKO can develop
expert systems for your organization. OXKO prides itself on surpassing
commercially accepted development practices. OXKO utilizes configuration
management and version control practices that include developer's notebooks,
delivery letters, and version control specifications. If interested
in OXKO's custom development services, request a copy of our Success
Stories Package which describes a small number of the applications which
we have developed for some of our clients. In addition, OXKO can provide
you with a copy of our Expert System Development Methodology Package
which describes a lot of the expert system development methodology that
we utilize.

Supporting Technology Development

To assist in the development of knowledge based systems and expert
systems and in order to make sure that the custom developed applications
are complete and useful, we have become proficient and are available
to develop hypertext systems, data management and database management
systems, data mining applications, groupware systems, local area networks,
wide area networks, Intranets, Internet based systems, automated fax
systems, and imaging systems, and provide CD-ROM publishing services.
Additionally, we can integrate multiple technologies into a single,
well-focused application.
