existence. The front of the building floats out over pine and beech
trees offering a view of Mt. Israel and Mt. Blacksnout. Crystal clear
streams and
rivers are in
abundance in
the area. Surrounded by 5 billion years of geological and organic
evolution, half a century of digital tinkering can be placed in
perspective.&nbsp;</small><small> </small></p>

invited to discuss their work,
lives and worlds --whether it's a novel, a computer game, an
organization or just a hunch about upgrading the incredible world we

reality. No technology is discouraged, but keep in mind that the only
electricity at the seminar lodge comes through a single phone line. We

    <p><font color="#184b81"><font size="-1">Ebon
Fisher's media works have been exhibited in
museums and festivals around the world. He has taught the digital arts
at MIT, the Massachusetts College of Art and the University of Iowa
and lectured at New York University, Sarah Lawrence College, Bennington
College, the University of Washington and Columbia University. In 1998
he created a new digital arts program for the University of Iowa called
Digital Worlds, which he directed for three years. He has written on
media
and the arts for Art Byte, the Utne Reader, the Walker Arts Center and
the New York Council for the Arts. </font></font><font color="#184b81"><font
 size="-1">Ebon
is the 2005 Marjorie Rankin Scholar-in-Residence at Drexel
University in Philadelphia. </font></font></p>
    <p><font color="#184b81"><font size="-1">Ebon
was one of the first instructors at MIT's Media Lab where he began his
research into culture as a form of "inter-coding" between humans and
machines. His experimental media rituals in the 1990s helped to build
vital channels of communication in Williamsburg, Brooklyn, which has
grown into a thriving arts district. According to Domus Magazine, his
bionic ritual, the Web Jam, became&nbsp; a "symbolic climax" to the
emerging Williamsburg art scene. Newsweek dubbed Fisher's Web Jam a
"sequel to the rave."&nbsp;</font></font> </p>
    <p><font color="#184b81"><font size="-1">Stemming
from his media rituals, Ebon developed a bionic ethics system called
Bionic Codes. These have spawned an entire digital world, Nervepool,
which provides a vivid context for his bionic ethics system. Fisher's
codes have been presented for the last six years on the Guggenheim
Museum's online CyberAtlas which documents the emergence of cyber
culture. His website has been cited as one of the "Best of the Web"
by the Encyclopedia Britannica.</font></font> </p>

He has taught as a professor at NYU, CUNY, and Pacific College, is a member of Apres-Coup Psychoanalytic Association, and lectures at various training institutes. He is author of the four volume philosophical-poetic work Autopoesis and the forthcoming books Wild Analysis: Chaos and Complexity in Therapeutic Practice and Soma: The Politics of Medicine and the Ecstasy of the Body.Arts.</font></font><font size="-1"><br>

    <small>Kevin McGarry is an editor and curator (Content Coordinator)
at <a href="Rhizome.org">Rhizome.org</a>, a premiere digital arts
organization based at the New Museum in New York City. Kevin came to
Rhizome after graduating New York University's Tisch School of the
Arts. At NYU he studied Film/Video production and Art History and
interned with Electronic Arts Intermix, New York Underground Film
Festival, and the Ocularis microcinema in Brooklyn. Digital literacy,
along with an early onset love for role-playing, cartography, and
atypical communities, are significant factors in Kevin's interest in
new media. He has taught video to students in New York and his native
New Hampshire and participates in making his own work and
