The Center on Child and Family Outcomes (CCFO) in the Institute of Clinical Research and Health Policy Studies is dedicated to advancing the development and application of knowledge regarding the quality of life of families experiencing chronic illness, with an emphasis on cancer.
<P>
The Center's staff consists of an interdisciplinary team of physicians,
psychologists, mental health professionals, nurses, and health
communications researchers with faculty and scientific staff appointments at the Tufts-New England Medical Center and Tufts University School of Medicine and the Tufts Sackler School of Graduate Biomedical Sciences.
<P>
The Center's primary research focus is: 1) the assessment of quality of life, functional impact, and fiscal impact of chronic illness on the
individual and their families, 2) instrument and methodological design and interpretation, 3) the design and evaluation of interventions to address quality of life, functional and fiscal issues and 4) formal mentoring of health professionals in this field.
