Bismarck Dig

I was working next to Staffer Amy, who was checking the diagrams in the book after jacketing a large bone. The discussion: "Well, I think it's a metatarsal".

Volunteer S. was trenching around the back of the bone we were working to extract, showing on top of the rock not yet plastered. Speculation was that it was a hip bone of an Edmontosaurus, aka "Cretaceous cows" because they were Tyrannosaur fodder.

Volunteers plastering bone jumbles with big "jackets". Half-excavated Triceratops skeleton is out of view to the left.

Digging with the trowel so that plastered bone next to me could be snapped over, then the second bone could be trenched, covered, and rolled over.
