"Modern" aft-superstructure boat; this one's about 5-600." This is
what I think ours wants to look like. BTW, I said we needed about a 300'boat, for
the reneering. I've checked my own paper, and the 15 ksf kite should be suitable
for tankers nearer 450-500'. Use your own judgement, however. Make the rendering
with any size boat you like. The larger 30ksf kite (350' x 90' x 20') should easily
handle a 700' freighter, and could do useful work with a 1000'er, on some courses.
Super-size ore carrier. Likely 900+ ft long. This is a Great Lakes carrier; the forward
house is likely due to the visibility issues there. An open ocean super tanker or
carrier wouldn't have the forward house. A super tanker would be wider, too, since
it wouldn't need to go through locks.
Another modern-style freighter (sorry it's so small)

I did find drawings:

HSPACE="5">This one's a full-blown sailing freighter. This boat is by "Dynaship"
and was almost built, back in the 70's (at least one test bed was). It is the best
hull drawing I could find. Note that the superstructure is missing, because of the
sailing rig. You could use these hull lines, however, removing the rig and adding
a conventional superstructure. A much larger version, with readable dimensions, is

Another "real" sailing freighter. I don't have dimensions on this one,
but it's likely 200' or so. Again, it has a low superstructure, and an "old
fashioned" look to the profile.

Another, this time with wingsails and a modern hull. Maybe 300' long? Note the bow
thrusters and big spade rudder (what do we care? -- it's underwater!)

And last, a perspective drawing. I've actually got this one with a (crappy
& small) kite attached, but scanned the wrong one. Ignore the deck structures,
the artist was trying to show inflatable wingsails, and collapsable, inflated Flettner
rotors (both good ideas).

I took this from a presentation by Keith Stewart (my old mentor), entitled, "Commercial
Ship Propulsion with Inflated Sails and Kites."

Yes, he'd likely hit us for copyright infringement, if too similar. A good drawing,
nevertheless. Ship's riding awfully high, must be dead empty, even of ballast.
