Consumer Electronics Online News (CEON)
The Newsletter Online with the Times
CEON, the first consumer electronics newsletter delivered as E-mail, was launched in 1996 by leading industry journalist and analyst Marjorie Costello. Each week, the latest news and analysis -- covering audio, video, PCs, communications, satellite, video games, the Internet and more -- is delivered electronically to subscribers across the globe. CEON has earned a reputation for accuracy along with its clear, concise and organized approach for conveying information.
As a result, CEON has become a must-read in the CE industry, reflected in its growing list of subscribers. They include leading companies such as Sony, Philips, Microsoft, Thomson, Panasonic, Hitachi, Harman, JVC, Apple, Sharp and Toshiba. Subscribers are also retailers, component makers, content companies, software developers, financial institutions, trade associations, public relations agencies and publications.
CEON's companion publication is the CE Calendar, the CE industry date book. Both CEON and the CE Calendar are available through a licensing agreement from Costello Communications, Inc. of New York.

More About CEON
Designed to help companies make sense out of the deluge of information, CEON is much more than a weekly news rehash. CEON provides authoritative reporting by experts who share their insights and analysis about current CE industry trends. Delivered via E-mail, CEON's valuable content can be shared instantly with all employees covered by a license.
Some of the many areas covered include the latest developments and products in HDTV and DTV, DVD players and recorders, home and portable audio, digital audio formats, home satellite, digital imaging, display technology, home networking, streaming media, PVRs and hard drive AV recording, memory cards, video game systems, handheld PCs and Internet appliances.
CEON also reports on retailing and E-commerce, companies' marketing strategies and financial performance, regulatory and legislative issues, acquisitions and strategic alliances, industry standards and statistics, as well as pertinent broadcasting, cable and motion picture industry news. In addition, CEON focuses on important issues and trends such as copyright protection, the convergence of AV and PC devices, and hardware as the gateway for generating service and content revenues.
Why CEON is unique and in sync with the times:
* Covers all the important areas at the convergence because everything is relevant in today's digital era.

To help you evaluate CEON, we are providing several recent editions:
[NOTE: Three CEON editions will be posted -- initially from January, February and March -- that will be updated quarterly with the oldest replaced with a new one.]
[CE CALENDAR PAGE]
CE Calendar
The CE Calendar, CEON's companion publication, is the CE industry date book. Marjorie Costello carefully and relentlessly compiles a schedule of important CE events, based upon her unique relationships with companies. Typically delivered twice a month, also as E-mail, the CE Calendar lists upcoming press conferences and line shows plus a complete trade show and conference schedule for the next year.
As part of their subscriptions, CE Calendar subscribers also can contact us in advance to clear dates to avoid conflicts. That way, as many company events as possible can attract the press attendance they deserve, including events at January's CES. In fact, work on the CE Calendar's comprehensive CES schedule begins the previous spring.
Most of the major companies do not make a move without first reviewing the CE Calendar and calling its editor. While many industry decisionmakers have come to depend upon the CE Calendar for their planning, the publication is invaluable to companies entering or expanding their presence in the CE industry. Only CEON subscribers are eligible to purchase the CE Calendar, and nearly all CEON subscribers do.
To find out what a typical CE Calendar looks like, please review this edition from 2000. Remember, it is out of date:
