<h1><strong>Umass Intern and art student Lia Rousett with 8’ tall three-dimensional pear of paper and cardboard at future site of the artwork</strong></h1>
<p>A three-dimensional 8’ form confirmed that the artwork needed to be 11 feet or higher to create the desired impact, especially given the 12’ Colonial Saunders image immediately behind the project site. Baring-Gould wanted the work to become a landmark and community gateway, which celebrated the little known history of Dorchester. Therefore, it was important that the work be large enough to be seen and appreciated by those driving through the square, but also immediate and intimate for those who regularly walk through the area. <br />
