<h4>ABS Workshop Topic: Considerations for the Go / No Go Decision for Post-Marketing Programs</h4>
<p>Sponsors should weigh a variety of factors when making the determination to proceed with the design, implementation, and operation of a post-marketing program. These programs provide a flexible and cost-effective strategy for obtaining the intelligence needed to satisfy the needs of regulatory and reimbursement agencies and to support marketing strategy. Yet a poorly conceived or designed registry may result in a program that is too cumbersome to implement and manage effectively, leading to underperformance and failure to deliver upon the sponsor's goals and objectives. This interactive session included case examples and covered, among other topics:</p>
<ul>
<li>Avoiding the temptation to sponsor programs that are "all things to all people"</li>
<li>The dangers of allowing technology (i.e. electronic data collection) to drive registry design</li>
<li>Considerations for long-term success, including data gaps that occur over time</li>
</ul>
<p>ABS speakers were Neal Mantick, Executive Director of Registries and Mason Russell, Vice President of Registries, Pricing and Reimbursement.</p>
