<p>The ABS team provides global, clinically-driven reimbursement solutions, integrated with health economics and outcomes research, to demonstrate and communicate product value and promote reimbursement and pricing success. </p>
<p>Healthcare budgets are constrained and payers worldwide face rapidly rising costs and aging populations. While pharmaceutical, biotechnology and medical device companies are spending more to commercialize new medical technologies, government and private payers are not automatically covering and reimbursing them. Whereas regulatory approval is a critical hurdle for product success, obtaining favorable coverage and reimbursement has now emerged as a daunting challenge worldwide. Requirements for positive coverage and reimbursement decisions vary considerably across different countries, payers, and therapeutic markets, and are rapidly evolving into much higher barriers than in the past. </p>
<p>As a result, reimbursement planning has become a critical activity. To provide maximum advantage, it must be done earlier in product development to allow clinical trials and complementary health economics and outcomes research activities to incorporate learning about key reimbursement drivers. Incorporating reimbursement planning and support throughout the product development and commercialization process enables product value to be demonstrated comprehensively in clinical, economic, and patient-reported terms. Demonstrating this value can provide competitive advantage, leading to positive coverage and reimbursement decisions and product success.</p>
