<font face="Verdana" size="2">Pursuant to the new federal
<a target="_blank" href="http://vote.nist.gov/hr3295.pl107252.final.pdf">
Help America Vote Act (HAVA)</a>, a voter who registered <b>BY MAIL</b>
on or after January 1, 2003 and is voting for the first time in a
federal election <b>MUST </b>provide identification either at the
polls on Election Day or by bringing the identification information
into the Town Clerk�s Office.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 1 5">
<font face="Verdana" size="2"> </font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 1 5">
<font face="Verdana" size="2">Acceptable identification includes a
driver�s license, current and valid photo ID (such as those issued by the
Registry and other agencies), current utility bill, bank statement,
government check, paycheck, or other government document showing the
voter�s name and address. Any identification provided must contain the
name and address of the voter as they are registering to vote.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 1 5">
<font face="Verdana" size="2"> </font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 1 5">
<font face="Verdana" size="2">If the voter does not have a valid form of
identification to show the election worker on Election Day, the voter will
be provided with a
<a target="_blank" href="TownClerkProvisionalBallotDescriptor.htm">
Provisional Ballot</a>. The voter then has until the close of polls to
return with a sufficient, valid ID. </font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="text-align: justify; margin: 1 5">

<font face="Verdana" size="2">The Elections Division of the Secretary of
State will be sending a postcard to all those persons who need to show
identification instructing them to either send in a copy of the
identification to the Town Clerk�s Office or bring it to the polls on
Election Day. </font></p>
