upcoming Route 128 Water and Sewer Rehabilitation Project. </font></p>

<font face="Verdana" size="1">The Route 128 Transportation Improvement
Project (TIP), otherwise known as the "Add-a-Lane" Project, is scheduled
to begin construction in the Town of Needham�s portion of Route 128
within the next few years. This work will place the Town of Needham�s
utilities at increased risk of damage. </font></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText3" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="1"> </font></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText3" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="1">There are gravity and force main sewer
that lie beneath the layout of Route 128, carrying sewage to and from
the <i>Reservoir St. "B" Wastewater Pumping Station</i>. The force main
has failed a number of times in the past 20 years, costing hundreds of
thousands of dollars to repair. </font></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText3" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="1"> </font></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText3" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="1">This Project includes the replacement of
the gravity and force main sewers and water mains beneath Route 128,
consolidation of Town utilities across Route 128 and the construction of
a new sewer force main within Crawford Street, Ellis Street, Gould
Street, and Hunting Road. Gravity sewer construction will be performed
on Crawford Street, Sachem Road, David Road, and A Street. </font></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText3" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="1"> </font></p>
<p class="MsoBodyText3" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="1">The Northern Section of the Route 128
Project <i>(Bridge 5 Contract) </i>work is scheduled to start in 2010.
The Town�s project is anticipated to take approximately 18 months, and
must be completed prior to the start of the State work. </font></p>

General plans of construction and a schedule will be posted on the Town
of Needham�s website (<a style="color: blue; text-decoration: underline; text-underline: single" href="../../../">http://www.town.needham.ma.us</a>,
and will be updated periodically, throughout the project. Plans are
also available at the Engineering Division of the Needham Department of
