The state is testing freshly-killed (less than 12 hours) <b>crows</b> or
<b>blue jays </b>this year. For surveillance purposes, <b>all</b>
freshly-killed dead birds need to be reported to the state, even if it�s
not a crow or a blue jay, but they will not be submitted for testing.
Reports of dead birds are considered a useful indicator of where to focus
mosquito surveillance and bird testing efforts. </font>

first call the hotline to inform the state, and then <b>if advised</b> bring the
bird down to the police station. Just put the bird into a paper bag using
a shovel, and wrap it in a plastic garbage bag with your name, address and
phone number on the bag. Please do not seal the bag, since the bird will
