<font face="Verdana" size="2">Please be advised that the Norfolk County
Mosquito Control Project will begin the 2005 early morning ULV aerosol
applications on or about May 23, 2005, weather permitting. This program
will be a continuation of the procedure, which has been used in past
years: </font></p>

<font face="Verdana" size="2">May 23, 2005 through September 30, 2005 -
Adulticide aerosol (ULV) applications. (2:00 AM to 6:30 AM, Monday
through Friday)</font></p>
<p class="MsoHeader" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">

<p class="MsoNormal" align="justify" style="margin: 1px 5px">
<font face="Verdana" size="2">For Needham, the early morning aerosol
applications will be conducted on Tuesday. If a resident wishes to know
when the spray program <b><i>may be</i></b> conducted in their area,
they should go to the Projects website at

Department. If an individual would like to see a map and/or street
listing of the areas to be treated, they should check out the following

town. Please note that the ULV map and/or street listings will be
posted on or about 3:30 PM the day <b><u>before</u></b> the scheduled
application day (these will also be posted in the Needham Town Hall
lobby area on the Health Dept. bulletin board, in the Health Dept.
office on the second floor of the town hall, and at the police
station). <b>Residents may also contact the Projects main telephone
line (781) 762-3681 after 3:30 PM the day before the scheduled treatment
to hear a recorded message detailing the streets/areas to be treated in
the town.</b> </font></p>

<font face="Verdana" size="2">The purpose of the adulticide application
is to control nuisance and/or virus carrying adult mosquitoes. The
control product being used is Anvil (EPA Reg.# 1021-1688-8329) applied
in ultra low volume (ULV) sprayers at a rate of one half ounce per acre
of finished spray.</font></p>

<font color="#000000" face="Verdana" size="4"><u>Process to Exclude
Property from Public Area Wide Pesticide Applications</u></font><!--mstheme--></font></h2>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 1 5"> </p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 1 30" align="justify">
<font face="Verdana" size="2">State Regulation 333 CMR:13:04 provides a
method for homeowners to <b>exclude their property from public area-wide
pesticide applications.</b> The regulation requires that residents send a
<u>certified letter</u> to the town or city clerk (cc: Health
Department). The certified letter should specify: your name, address,
telephone number, the names of all abutters, and the spray program for
which the exclusion is requested. In addition, the boundaries of the
property must be marked every 50� by tin pie plates or other appropriate
means. Questions regarding the regulation can be answered by calling the
Massachusetts Pesticide Bureau at (617) 626-1781. To have a property
excluded from spraying, please contact Norfolk County Mosquito Control
Project at (781) 762-3681.</font></p>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 1 5" align="justify"> </p>

<font face="Verdana" size="2">If a resident in the town of Needham does
not want early morning mosquito spraying on their property, the Town of
Needham is now accepting requests in writing. They should follow these
procedures:</font></p>

<font face="Verdana" size="2">Address letter to the attention of
Theodora Eaton, Town Clerks office, Needham Town Hall, 1471 Highland
Avenue, stating the number and street of where their property is
located;</font></li>

<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 1px 5px" align="justify">
<font face="Verdana" size="2">A copy of this letter should also be
sent to the attention of John Smith, Norfolk County Mosquito Control
Project, Building #34 Endicott Street, Norwood, MA 02062;</font></li>
<li>
<p class="MsoNormal" style="margin: 1px 5px" align="justify">
<span style="font-family: Verdana"><font size="2">A copy of this
letter should also be sent to the Needham Health Department at 1471
Highland Avenue, Needham, MA 02492.</font></span></li>
