<p>Conference participants have the option to take a guided tour of the Air
Force Maui Optical and Supercomputing (AMOS) site.<span style="mso-spacerun:
yes"> </span>The Air Force Research Laboratory operates this site
encompassing the Maui Space Surveillance System (MSSS) and the Maui High
Performance Computing Center (MHPCC) to support a research and development
mission.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Further information on
AMOS may be found at <a href="http://www.maui.afmc.af.mil/">http://www.maui.afmc.af.mil/</a>.</p>
<p>We will depart the Wailea Marriott at 1100 in a motorcoach for the short
drive to the Maui Research and Technology Park in Kihei.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>There we will tour the MHPCC facility,
receive an overview of the AMOS site, and enjoy a catered lunch.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Next we will depart for the 1.5-hour
drive to the MSSS, situated near the summit of Haleakala (“House of the
Sun”).<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>This scenic drive will take
us from sea level to 10,000 ft elevation through the serene Upcountry districts
of Maui.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>After visiting MSSS and
with time/weather permitting, we will make a brief stop at the Summit House of
Haleakala National Park to enjoy the spectacular views.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>We will return to the hotel ending the
tour at approximately 1700.</p>
<p>Please note that the weather at the summit is unpredictable and can be
dramatically cooler.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span>Jacket and
sunglasses are suggested, and closed-toe shoes are required.</p>
<p><b>COST<o:p></o:p></b></p>
<p>The fee for this tour is $40 per person and covers transportation, lunch,
and snacks.</p>
<p><b>RESERVATIONS</b></p>
<p>This tour is limited to 60 people and is open to all registered conference
attendees.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes"> </span><b>Reservations are
