The 2004 Astrodynamics Conference, hosted by the American Institute of Aeronautics and Astronautics (AIAA) and cosponsored by the American Astronautical Society (AAS), will be held 16 - 19 August in Providence, RI. The conference is organized by the AIAA Astrodynamics Technical Committee, and the AAS Space Flight Mechanics Technical Committee.

Papers are being sought pertaining to all areas of astrodynamics. Topics of interest include, but are not limited to:

<li>Navigation, guidance and control</li>

Papers that contain experimental results or current data are of special interest to the program planning committee, and are especially encouraged.

Special session proposals will be considered from prospective session organizers. Special areas of interest include but are not limited to:

Special sessions may be as long as four hours for selected topics. Their intent is to invite discussion and the exchange of ideas regarding the topical area. Prospective special session chairs should submit a proposal consisting of a title, a brief description of the session, and a list of proposed activities and/or invited speakers and titles.

<b>Abstracts</b>
<br>
Papers will be accepted on the basis of extended abstracts. The extended abstract will be at least one page in length and should include a description of the problem addressed and the results obtained, as well as a brief summary of the solution procedure and relevance to astrodynamics research. Abstracts must also contain supporting figures and/or tables. The abstract must include paper title, names and affiliations of all authors
In addition to the extended abstract, you must include the following information in the body of your e-mail to facilitate future correspondence:
(name, affiliation, address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address for the corresponding author; and a short abstract (100 word maximum) to be included in the final program.
A "no paper, no podium" rule will be in effect for this conference; no author will be permitted to make a presentation at the conference if a written paper has not been submitted to AIAA Headquarters by the <b><u>12 August 2004 </u></b>deadline. Prospective authors should keep this rule in mind when submitting their draft manuscripts.

<b>Abstract Submission</b>
<br>
Prospective authors are invited to submit a copy of their extended abstract, short abstract, and corresponding author information electronically via the AIAA Web site at address <b>http://www.aiaa.org/author.</b> This Web site will be open for abstract submittal starting 13 October 2003. The system will allow for file upload in the following formats: Word, WordPerfect, Text, RTF, and PDF. When submitting through the Web site, please be sure to designate "Astrodynamics Conference" under the conference directory when asked to which conference you are submitting. All abstracts must be received no later than 12 January 2004.
<br><br>
Authors having trouble submitting abstracts electronically should e-mail AIAA technical support at: [email protected] or contact the conference Technical Program Chairs. Questions about the abstracts themselves or abstract submissions should be referred to the Technical Program Chairs. Letters of acceptance with complete instructions will be sent electronically to authors in March 2004.
