MISSILE TECHNOLOGY DEMONSTRATION FLIGHT TEST - 2

S.H. Slivinsky, Lt L. Fountain, R. Galloway, and Capt A.M. Scott - Phillips Laboratory

Abstract

The Ballistic Missile Technology Office at Phillips Laboratory, Kirtland AFB, NM, in cooperation with the Theatre Targets Product Office of the US Army Space and Strategic Defense Command (USASSDC), launched a missile at White Sands Missile Range, NM on January 29, 1997. The flight used Phillips-developed technologies and the Global Positioning System (GPS) to evaluate technologies that may reduce US dependence on costly range instrumentation while improving safety systems.
