<h2> Abstract </h2>
An onboard estimation technique of spacecraft (I9 (Bs relative motion with respect to the surface of a target body is discussed. The relative motion in the plane perpendicular to the line of sight of an onboard camera can, theoretically, be estimated by taking the correlation between images in the frequency domain. A newly developed onboard navigation algorithm using this scheme is described as well as the theory itself. The algorithm was verified using the images of the asteroid surface model taken by the TRAnslational Motion simulator (TRAM) system.
