Geneva'>George Vassilatos </span></b><span style='font-family:Geneva'>was born
in the city of Corfu, Greece where he completed his secondary school
education.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� </span>After receiving a Diploma in
Chemical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens
(Polytechnion), he pursued graduate studies in Canada and the United
States.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� </span>He received a Master of Applied
Science degree from the University of Toronto, Canada and a Doctor of
Philosophy degree in chemical engineering from Carnegie Mellon University in
Pittsburgh, PA in 1964. <o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><span style='font-family:Geneva'><o:p></o:p></span><span style='font-family:Geneva'>The 
  same year he joined the Research Division of the Engineering Department of the 
  DuPont Company in Wilmington, Delaware<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� </span>as 
  a research engineer and later on he moved to the Central Research Department.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� 
  </span>Currently, he is a DuPont Fellow, the highest technical level in the 
  Corporation.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes">� </span>Dr. Vassilatos� field of research activity 
  is synthetic fiber spinning dynamics and fiber molecular structure development.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� 
  </span>He is the author of numerous papers published in refereed technical journals 
  and he holds a number of patents in these areas.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� 
  </span>He has received recognition for his work.<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><span style='font-family:Geneva'> 
  <o:p></o:p></span><span style='font-family:Geneva'>Dr. Vassilatos is a Fellow 
  of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, an Affiliate Professor of Chemical 
  Engineering at the University of Washington and a member of the Advisory Board 
  of the Chemical Engineering Department of Carnegie Mellon University.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� 
  </span>Currently, he is the president of the (International) Polymer Processing 
  Society (1999-2001).<o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><span style='font-family:Geneva'> 
  <o:p></o:p></span><span style='font-family:Geneva'>Dr. Vassilatos has served 
  the Greek-American Community of Wilmington, Delaware in many capacities.<span style="mso-spacerun: yes">� 
  </span>For many years, he held various positions on the Parish Council of the 
  Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church and he served as president of the Parish 
  Council.<span
style="mso-spacerun: yes">� </span>He has also served as president of the Hellenic 
  University Club of Wilmington.<o:p></o:p></span><span style='font-family:Geneva'><o:p></o:p></span></p>

<p class=MsoNormal style='margin-left:1.0in'><span style='font-family:Geneva'>Dr. 
  Vassilatos resides in Wilmington, Delaware, with his wife Yvonne. They have 
  two married children and are blessed with three grandchildren.</span><o:p></o:p></p>
